Coda - MY friend keeps saying the same thng - she just had a girl and she was miserably sick - dry heaving every morning like me. IWOw you do seem to be getttng everything these days. the good thing is that both issues can be helped by diet, and if you have to, I believe they have approved medication that should help you keep the conditions under control (don't take my word on that one). Tara - THta is what I had that time - a bacterial infection (don't remember which one) but I figured that is what you had when you mentioned the greenish yellow color. vaginosis, I think they call it. It clears up quickly so don't worry. I understand about worrying constantly about every little thing. If it makes you feel better, I have calmed down so much since I hit the second trimester. I still worry, buit I don't torment myself the way I used to, and aside form the vomiting, I am enjoying being pregnant. B&K - I am so sorry about the cyst, and th factthat they can't harvest the eggs. I will keep you in mny thoughts and pryaers that it turns out ot be the more optimistic of the two cycsts. Your boss was obviously being selfish and worrying about how your absence would affect him/her and not even considering what this whole surgery means to you. People can be such assholes sometimes. Hopefully it wil turn out well, but theere are options if you do lose your ovary, such as egg donation and adoption if you choose. Hopefully you won't even have to consider those options. Chrsitie - Maybe they just misdiagnosed you with PCOS back then. Sometiems docs can misread the signs, or some signs can be easily confused. At least now they don't htink you have it. That is one less issue to have to worry about whiel TTC. COda - THt is really egenerous of you - the egg donation. I offered the same thing to my sister when they trying but she said her eggs were not the problem, it was his sperm and the fact that the in vitros just couldn't seem to implant. She told me recently when were discussing my whole progeserone issue that she wished she had pursued that avenue further to see if that had been her problem. Nicole - i tried ginger ale and crackers. Like everything else I trie dthey worked only briefly and then I swear it was like my body built up an immunity to that new trick and I stratde puking again - ha, ha! I like the little preggie pop drops - they sort of work for me when the nausea is not too extreme. Dawn - No, one healthy baby is certainly not to much to ask for at all.

Daniella - June 17th, 2006 6:50 PM

Helene- Nope, I didn't think you said you took the meds everyday.. what I was saying is that maybe you should. The small risks out weigh the nausea you have and not being able to down good food. What I was saying is sometimes drugs work better by taking it in a row instead of one here or there. LIke motrin.. people think that you just pop one dose and it will take away you pain, etc. where in fact it takes a few days of taking it every 6 hours to really work its best. I am the same way and would never take meds for anything. May sound stupid, but I would never even take antibiotics. This isn't even from being pregnant, I just believe that you should let the body do its thing. Heck, I wouldn't even get the epi. during labor or any pain meds. I did however take percacet after giving birth because I couldn't pee because of the pain being so bad, so I would have to take it to give me a 15 minute window of lessened pain just to be able to pee. LOL.. so, I'll take meds now if it really comes down to it. Once again, it isn't even just being pregnant. Anyhow... the meds aren't going to hurt your baby that your dr. gave you. Not eating enough veggies wont really either, but isn't the healthiest. So, I would choose being able to eat and stomach something over the risk of taking one pill a day to help the nausea. Hopefully you wont even have to worry about this for much longer as you are getting further along. ALso Helene..... you are getting close to the 19 week mark where you get the anatomy scan, etc. When is your next appt. ?? and are you finding out the sex soon??

coda - June 17th, 2006 9:55 PM

lol i know sounds like i am an unfit bitch hey lol. but honestly my diet aint to bad i dont drink fizzy juice and the chocolate i eat is only when troy goes to the british sweet shop because australian chocolate is yukks. so its not that often. and i walk all i can before i feel like i am going to pass out . i am wondering if everything is related and once i get this sorted i will be fine. i have cronic hypertention danellia which just means i had it b4 pregnancy so who knows i will just be glad to get my body back!! and not feel like shit everyday. if i do too much i get bad palpatations and pass out. my bp doc said its cos my heart is racing and if it happens more than it does just now then to go right to hospital so understandably i dont push myself .

Daniella - June 17th, 2006 10:58 PM

Coda- Not saying that you eat like crap. LOL.. just saying sometimes you need a "change" in diet. Even if it was good, it just may need to be changed is all. Heck, my diet is much different now then it was before I was pregnant and when I was pregnant because I am breast feeding. It wasn't bad at all when I was pregnant, but now that baby is born and I am breast feeding him there are certain foods that just doesn't do well for him. Its the same way with YOUR health when your pregnant. Things in your body change. Heck, you got all kinda of crazy hormones going all over the place its no wonder your taste buds change, your body changes, and your diet. The word "diet" doesn't mean... ah, you eat like crap so you need to go on a diet... NO. It just means on what you intake (consume) thats all.

Helene - June 18th, 2006 10:16 AM

Ha! I totally reda your message backwards Daniella! Can I blame it on baby brain? The one baby book I have is written by an ob/gyn who aid that when she was preggo she would tell everyone, hey all the blood that used t go to my brain is now going to my belly! Thta is a good theory about taking the meds consistently - I ill ask the doc tomorow if that is a better way to do it. I have been eating a good amount of protein nd carbs and fruit is no problem - it was the damned veggies that had me so worried. Espeicllay because before the m/s I was so conscious of getting the minimum number of everything in to balance my diet. ACTually yesterday I didn't take the zofran (only a little mild nausea in the morning that cleared up quickly after a glass of milk - my new best friend is imilk! This child is getting plenty of protein between tuns and milk!). But the thing thta made my day was that at diner I actualy ate a green veggie! Who hoo! I ate string beans - only five but hey, it is a start! and the tatsted good! Then I had a bunch of carrots, but carrots were on the goodlist already. Anyway, it seems like such a lame thing ot be excited over, but I am taking it as a good sign. Tomorrow at the docs I have a list of questions. I have the amnio the following week (26th) and I know the doc tol me a few visits past that they would do the big amnio aorund 18-19 weeks, so I want to ask when. I know they do an u/s at the tim of the amnio, so I wonder if they woudl just do both on the same date. Plus, I have to be off my feet the first 24 hours, and then take it easy for two days. I have friends form out of town who will bein the are and I want to see them, but I have to find out if driving to Brooklyn to meet up with them is okay. I would have them all over here, but she said no housecleaning and she recommended going out somewhere rather than entertaining so I wouldn't be getting up and down. So my friend in Brooklyn offered to have the out-of-towners and me over, as she can entertain. If dh was off and driving me, it wouldn't be a problem, but he is working. Also, about this sleeping on your side thing. I am having the worst time of it due to my herniated disc. I miss sleeping on my back, and i wonder if sleeping propped up on my back at a 45 degree angle wold be okay as it is not "flat." ANy ideas on that one?

Helene - June 18th, 2006 10:22 AM

Hey, Coda - My friend had gest diabetes and she said that there are anumber of risk factors, such as heridtary and that she just got "lucky." Your mom was huge with you guys you said,so maybe that is a sign that you were kind of fated to this. She also ate well normally, but had to make dietary changes once the gest diabetes hit just because it changes you abilty to process certain foods.. She had no problems controlling it that way.

Helene - June 18th, 2006 12:36 PM

Tara - I just read this ins one of my pregnanyc books - wish I had seen it ealier. Direct quote: "Vaginl infections can and do occur during pregnancy. The discharge that acompanies these infections is often foul smelling. It is yellow or green, and causes irritation or itching around or inside the vagina. If you have any of these symptoms, call your doctor. Many creams and antibiotics used to treat vaginal infections are safe to use during pregnancy."

Daniella - June 18th, 2006 12:59 PM

Hey Helene- could it possibly be the way your eating the veggies? Or have you tried every way possible? I'm sure you have, but just asking. I know sometimes the only way I could eat veggies was steamed there for awhile. Anyhow, thats good that the nausea is starting to subside. Oh hey, about the back. I slept on my back until I gave birth and never had any problems. Actually its only been recently that they say you shouldn't sleep on your back flat because of the nerve there and the pressure, etc. but, your not far enough along yet to put too much pressure. YOu know not to sleep on your back when it starts hurting to sleep on your back. If it doesn't, then your OK to do it. The only reason why I started going on my left side is solely because of the heartburn. Seemed that was the only way it wouldn't be as bad. I had a very hard time sleeping on my right side. Oh, and I slept on my tummy every once and a while until like 6-7 months. You can sleep anyway you want really until it isn't comfortable anymore. Good luck at the docs tomorrow!!!

Daniella - June 18th, 2006 12:59 PM

Helene- Part 6? LOL

Bee99 - June 18th, 2006 6:32 PM

Helene...your little one lets you know when to get off your back my babes use to go crazy in fact Id lay on my back for a sec if I was concerned about babe not moving in a while. As for the 45 degree thats how I spent the night in hospital at 33 weeks after the snake bite I didnt like it though got a sore ass but the bed was hard. When I went to roll onto my side a little monitors went off beeping nurses would run to find me fighting in a tangle of cords trying to get them back to the postion that would shut them up while telling them how sorry I was.

Daniella - June 18th, 2006 6:43 PM

Bee- that is too funny!! I remember pretty much the same thing (well, not the snake bite) but when I was hooked up to all the monitors when they thought I was going to go into preterm labor, they had the sheet roll thing under by back, to the side to keep my at the 45 degree angle and I kept taking it out to lay on my back. They would be like, "what you doing, you cant lay flat on your back" and I basically told them to screw off because I wasn't going to lay in that position where it killed my back worse. Well, not just back, but butt and side also. That isn't a good position to be in and there is nothing wrong with being on your back flat if it doesn't hurt. If the baby is putting too much pressure on the nerve, causing the pinch nerve in the back which backs blood flow lessened then you wouldn't be comfortable. You would feel pain and wouldn't lay that way. SO yea, I hear ya about them running in trying to get me on my side. Now, there is sometimes you have to be on your side when your in the hospital on monitors like you have to lay on your side if your blood pressure is high, your left side if you have gas, etc., etc. but not just because your pregnant.

Daniella - June 18th, 2006 6:44 PM

sorry about the typos

LeraeAllyn - June 19th, 2006 10:14 AM

HELENE - I had always heard that laying on your back was not good either but one of the first things the midwives gave me last fall was a little flyer saying how sleeping on your back was just fine. How you would feel discomfort before there could be any negative effects to the baby. So go for it. I think you just have to do what feels best while you can :-) Hope that m/s ceases soon, I would be at a loss if I could not stomach veggies. I love veggies - just had some sweet corn last night and it was so good. One of my favorite things about summer and can not wait for the local stuff to come in :-) Today I am getting a massage at 5:30. With my new insurance they pay 50% up to $250 a year for complimentary medicine. So I am getting an hour massage for only $32.50 and plan to go once a month til the end of the year now. I love massage and hope it will losen me up for the upcoming round of TTC :-) I have encouraged DH to go too and hope he will. Heck, if I do not get pg soon maybe I will investigate accupunture too ... Dawn

Daniella - June 19th, 2006 3:43 PM

Dawn- Why would you subject yourself to accupunture before going to an OB to run tests? It may just be something real small that can easily be fixed. :) But, lets hope that your body is just finally ready this month and you dont even have to worry about that.

LeraeAllyn - June 19th, 2006 5:10 PM

DANIELLA - I was just messing. Since I could get reimbursed for 50% of the accupunture. Most likely would NOT do that. Not sure I would care for a bunch of needles being stuck in me. No matter how small they are :-) yes, hopefully my body is getting more back on track each month and things will happen soon. I am off to my massage soon. I have a monster headache from stinky woman next to me with her obscene amounts of nauseating perfume. So lovely the working environment I have here. I hope that is she does not cool it on the perfume that I puke all over her someday when I am pregnant. Ha Ha - Dawn

Daniella - June 19th, 2006 6:45 PM

LOL Dawn. Have fun with your massage (wait, you'll be done by the time you read this) so, hope you had a good time!! Did you convince dh to go?? Also, maybe you should talk to your boss about that ladies perfume, that isn't healthy for the work environment. Sounds silly, but it really isn't. Good thing she doesn't work next to me, lol.. I'd set her straight. haha.. jk. but seriously, I wouldn't let that fly.
