HELENE - I have yet to check out the book you have been referencing. I just hope that we did not blow it for this month. On Sunday I did not even attempt to take my temp since I was so congested and could not breath thru my nose even for 2 minutes to do it. This morning though my temp was over 98 degrees for the first time since I started checking it on 4/14. I am taking that as a sign that I am indeed ovulating now like the OPK indicated yesterday. I will be so bummed if we missed our chance this month. DH knows we will be doing our thing today when I get home again...So, any idea what your due date is yet? You are in your 9th week right? Dawn

nicole nelson - April 24th, 2006 3:09 PM

Good afternoon ladies. I do believe that af has finally got here after four agonizing weeks of pmsing. lol. Anyway. I hope everyone is doing good. And if you are having your baby boy Daniella I hope yall are doing good.

Helene - April 24th, 2006 6:46 PM

Hi! Tansy - I hope that you are right and that this paves the way to a successful pregnancy.. I, too have never heard of ovulating twice in a cycle, only releasing two eggs at roughly the same time in one cycle. Could you endometriosis just be slowing down the process and making it look that way? Also, you can get an lh surge and not ovulate and then get a second lh surge and actually ovulate . thta happened to me the month before we conceived due to being quite sick. Dawn- Don't stress about the temps - it has to be three consecutive high temps before you know for sure. ANd if you were sick, it could raise your temp.SO don't freak out! LOL! That happened to me (I told you I totally flipped out the computer at fertility friend. com because my temps went sky high, dropped back down and then climbed up again). Daniella - I thought he was JD, and I typed that at firts, but i knew he had that papal kind of name and I couldn't remember if it was John David Paul or John Paul David (guess I was confusing him with the previous pope!) so I just kind of guessed. JD is cute. DH is Ted, and his dad was Ted - actually Diodoro which is the Italian version of Theodore. I asked him if he still wants to name a son after him and he is still into the idea, so as I hate the name Theodore (but I gave in because i seem to get my way on all the other stuff!LOL) my child will also be Teddy or Ted (if it is a boy). My FIL passed a way several years ago, so it actually won't be as confusing as it seems as there will only be Ted and Teddy. Otherwise, I think maybe we need to do the initial thing ourselves. ANywya, we are not seriously talking names until the second trimester at least. I have my appt on Thursday and I have the anxious feeling I always get before hand. Nicole- congrats on a/f. Goodluck to all with the TTC and the 2ww these dyas. I have a friend who is doing in vitro and will find out tomorrow if it worked. I really hope so. this is her second try and they used the remaining embryos (four) because she was hoping to increase the odds of at least one implanting and staying. Poor thing is goign through hell with the side effects. I know my sis tried that and it is not pretty. This is my friend's second try (the other m/c'ed at about 5-6 wks) and she has a 2 year old (did the insemination with him which worked).

Daniella - April 24th, 2006 7:01 PM

Dawn- Hopefully if this is the rise in temp. right after ovulationg, it stays high for 18 days, hehe... Bding every night or every chance is not always best, so you never know!!! I wish you the best of luck!!! Oh and I think your right that the zanzibar is kidsline. Everything is from Babysrus. We spent $800 there during Christmas just on beddding to take back with us to Japan. FInally put it all together and it looks great. Will send pics. :) __Tansy- Have you concidered talking to a fertility specialist?? My sister couldn't get pregnant for 8 years and actually went on birth control to get pregnant. She purposely missed a dose or 2 and it worked. Right after she got pregnant, she was put on progesterone right away. I do know that progesterone supplements is definitely something you should look into. FOr either building up a nice thick lining RIGHT after ovulation for implantation... or once you find out your pregnant. Its best to do it right after ovulation, but the only problem is you have to know 100% sure that you ovulated and that might require a fertility doctor (depending). Gosh, I sure hope you get lucky soon! ___Helene- We knew that our son would be named after dad since well before we conceived. I always had the belief that the first son was to keep the name going. So, that was never a problem.. Now, if we were having a girl on the otherhand.... we might have some problems. LOL... Also, good luck at your appt. on Thursday. How far along will you be exactly and did you find out if your going to get another transvag. scan?? That would be real neat, and they just might. I have my appt. here in a couple hours. I am so excited. I am going to get my membranes stripped (sweep) done today (hopefully) so it "should" bring on labor within the next 48 hours after having it done. I am 38 weeks now. I can't believe I have been dilated since 32 weeks and been 3 cm for 3 weeks now. Yikes!! but, what went from possible preterm, is now full term, so I am pretty happy. Plus, hubby is here!!! I know sweeping the membranes doesn't always work if the baby is ready. SOme woman have to get it done more than once. I sure hope he is ready (which I believe he is) and this works. Wish me luck. Oh hey Helene (in case I go into spontaneous labor and dont get a chance to post for the next couple days)... make sure you look at the darn scan this time and get a print-out!! hehe. ;) ___Coda- what did your aunt say? Or have you not told her yet??

Daniella - April 24th, 2006 7:04 PM

Wow, sorry on the typos!! Also, that was... I know that sweeping the membranes doesn't always work if the baby ISN'T ready! whoops!

Brocknkatiesmom - April 24th, 2006 9:20 PM

Dawn- Hang in there and have fun tonight. I'm not so patiently waiting to test. Af is due on Sat. I usually spot for a few days before Af so if no spotting then I will test on Friday. If I can wait that long. I'm not sure if I'm imagining it or it it is real but I have very sore bb's. I have also been sick to my stomach. We were on the motorcycle this weekend and I almost threw up. I have alot of nasal drainage and it could just be that. I am really hoping that it is pg symptoms and that I'm not just imagining it. Daniella- good luck on getting that little guy here soon. Hope everyone else is doing well.

coda - April 25th, 2006 12:03 AM

danellia there is a 3 yr waiting list to see a fertility specalist in scotland dont really know about england thou. and as for doctors u go to the clinic that is in ur area as its NHS u dont shop around just take what ur given in saying that most clinics have 8 doctors to choose from. i was in sooo much pain last night my right hand side was agony troy ended up phoning the emergancy room for advice lol bless him was just my belly growing thou because when i got up this morning i was like omfg were did that come from! i feel heeps better today as well but i am getting quite short of breath. dawn i wish u luck for this month and helen hope u are not feeling too sicky

Daniella - April 25th, 2006 3:52 AM

Coda- yup! I can relate.. I remember that feeling. Its your ligaments stretching. I thought I was growing a huge cyst on my ovary or something with that amount of pain. Not to scare you, but things just get worse. Some things go away (like that pain) but new ones come. The things us woman go through to have give life. Its all worth it in the end, but getting there can be a struggle. Coda - have you talked to your aunt? Anyhow, I just got back from the doc. kinda bummed. They used to do the membrane sweeping at 38 weeks, but they just recently changed it to 39 weeks (go figure, just my luck!)... SO, I have it scheduled for next Tuesday... 7 days from now if I don't have the baby by then. My normal doctor did an internal exam and pretty much blew off that fruit cake doctor saying, "well, you are definitely a "good" 3 cm dilated" She also said I was 80% effaced and baby fully engaged. I told her what the fruit cake doctor in L&D said (that I was back tracking) and she said, "yea, I read that here in your med. records and I can tell you right now, don't listen to what he said... you are definitely progressing and NOT backtracking" SO, at least that was good to hear. Just wish I could have had the membrane sweeping done. Oh well!! Oh, also... when I say "fruit cake" doctor... I literally mean that. lol.. this guy floats when he walks and honestly I even as an OB, I dont think he's aware of the female body. Not to be TMI, but when I seen him in L&D on Easter and he did the internal exam... he couldn't find my "hole" LOL>.... I kid you not!!! He had put the glove on and went to do the internal and he kept pocking the top... I was about to say, "um, you need to go a little lower" Can you believe that!?!? LOL... Plus, it didn't even feel like he was feeling my cervix when he said I was only 50% effaced. Needless to say, I sure pray I don't go into labor when he is on call. LOL

Daniella - April 25th, 2006 3:54 AM

Once again, sorry about the typos and added words. Yikes!

Tansy - April 25th, 2006 6:21 AM

Hi Helene, I had only ever heard of it happening at the same time too until recently. I know you can get a surge and then not ovulate for a while, which is what I assumed had happened but a combination of thngs got me thinking and after talking to my doctor and midwife (I was booked in just as I was about to miscarry) it's not such a bizarre theory as I thought it was. Of course no one has told me for absolute definite that this is or isn't happening, but I've got to know my body quite well this last year. Hi Daniella, we are going to TTC one more time and if I miscarry again then we're going to look further into things and be referred on. I've never seen a fertility specialist and I think there's a long waiting list to be able to see one, although I have been through all kinds of treatments and specialists for my period problems in the past leading to my diagnosis of endo so some issues have been ruled out fortunately. I feel scared even mentioning this in case I curse myself but from the start I had a feeling that my last pregnancy would not be successful but that my next one will be, so I am just hoping and praying my feeling is right. I'm sorry you didn't get the membrane sweep done today, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that next week comes quickly for you! As for me, I am going back to work tomorrow. I am dreading it. I'm dreading people asking me why I've been away and whether I'm feeling better. Very few of them even knew I was pregnant.

coda - April 25th, 2006 6:33 AM

just to throw this out there cos i dont really know but fertinal twins require 2 eggs so i asume it could be afew days apart when the egg relises . i am a furternal twin

nicole nelson - April 25th, 2006 10:14 AM

Good morning ladies. Af came full force yesterday. It wasn't to bad until last night. I used nine pads over the course of nine or ten hours. I thought I was going to bleed to death. whew. I was cramping so bad. I hope my afs or getting regular but I hope they aren;t like this one. lol. Sorry to hear about that daniella what is sweeping your membranes. I haven't heard of that. lol. Helene hope you aren't feeling to sick and Coda good luck. Dawn and everyone else. I will keep my fingers crossed. Good day to all.

Helene - April 25th, 2006 6:24 PM

Hey there! Daniella - sorry they didn't sweep ya. Maybe next week - or maybe you won't even need it. Laughed at your comments - yes, I was thinking the same thing - once I hear everything is fine I am definitely going to look at the screen, and will ask for printouts. I don't know which he is doing, but I figure I will either get a regular by him that day or a referral to the u/s lab upstairs for the transvaginal. Thanks everyone - I have been less sick although I have moments when I feel like I may gag. Eating has been much better, but I am still having a green veggie problem (although I plan on giving broccoli a second try tonight). I am eating fruit though, which is good, and hitting the other food groups. Have been having a slightly nauseated feeling early on, but able to eat so it gets better. But sometimes during the day I feel almost like I might gag and I end up coughing violently to stop it - I must sound like I am 102 when I do thta! LOL! It doesn't happen very often. Tansy - good luck going back to work. Make something up, or have someone else tell everyone for you so you don't have to talk about it. Nicole- oh how miserable! You must feel like garbage. But look ta it this way - after all those unusually light a/f's, maybe this is your body shedding all the old stuff and getting back to normal. I told you my friend was on deprovera and it took so long to get her a/f back and then when it did it was heavy and unusually long (2-3wks I think). Coda - Don't laugh but i sometimes get short of breath at the end of the day. It is so weird. I think it is because I am really tired at that point, so I am trying to gulp twice as much ozygen just to keep my eyes open. LOL! IT has also happened when I ate too much too quickly -- I can only eta n small amounts or I get heartburn or just feel unbelievably full - like my food is up near the top of my esophagus. Last night it took about an hour to eat a bowl of past because I ate three tiny servings. I get some weird pains here and there, mostly gas, sometimes stomach aches when I am feelign nauseous and my stomach is empty, but occasionally they are different and then they go away, so I think they are the beginning of things stretching - the one book I had mentioned them starting around this time. Oh yeah - Daniella since you asked - I will be 10 weeks on Friday.

Bee99 - April 25th, 2006 8:56 PM

HELENE and CODA ..Glad everything is going well for you guys.
Daniella too bad about the DRs appointment like you said you may not need it done anyway. I usally go over but I cant see myself going to term im biigger now than I was at full term Im not going to be able to drive soon no joke I got into the car this morning and my belly was on the wheel I had to roll seat back lucky its an auto and we bought a couch on the week end the 1 we had the pillows kept falling off and it was old when we got it and I always sat on the floor so DH finally said lets go get 1. That night after moving furniture to fit the couch and came with 2 recliners we decided to pull them forward and kick back with a game of golr on the sony the chairs had been flying open if you did not click them down properly anyway DH was in the process of pulling the couch forward and he said you have to make sure its clicked in you wouldnt want it to fly open when you get out I was thinking and about to say "Wharch it doesnt fly open while your moving it" and WHAMO IT FLEW OPEN AT ABOUT 200KPH hitting DH in the shins so hard it drew blood I turned my back on him and laughted so hard I was alomst crying lucky for me he was too. My stomack was killing me I thought I was going to bring on labour right there and then the pressure was unbelievable. So when we had finished I was sure to click my chair in and wturned to push it back and would you believe it WHAMO it flew open and got my shins also but only enough to bruise a little hurt none the less and that was it we were laughing hard again. Now I have it mastered dont want it to get the kids or babe later on.

Daniella - April 25th, 2006 11:21 PM

Bee- Wow!! Sounds like some dangerous furniture you have. Oh my!! Be careful. ALso, I hear ya about getting big. All I know is this little guy must have got so huge in the past few weeks. I went from hardly showing to not being about to see my "you know" anymore. Its crazy how fast it happened. I think if he doesn't come out soon, he is going to be a huge baby. FOr ones that don't know what sweeping the membranes is.... well, its not actually inducing for it only works if the baby is ready and sometimes it can take more than once..... What it is, is the doctor while feeling in your cervix will sweep the membranes off the wall of the sac to the cervix. My doctor doesn't want to do it until 39 weeks because of the very slight chance that during the process they might accidently break the sac. It just helps most not go past the due date (which isn't even always the case).... also, most doctors wont do it unless you are already dilating, which I am. Plus I already lost my mucus plug and had the bloody show... so, sweeping my just help things move along a bit better. Oh well!! I just hope that I don't have to worry about getting it done on Tuesday due to giving birth before then. :) I've been so crampy this morning since I woke up, I keep thinking that any time now I should start bad contractions... but, nothing too bad yet. Its weird how excited I am to feel pain. LOL... I told hubby that I cant wait until I hurt so bad, because that means I am getting closer and it will be over soon. ___Coda- you ovulate for 2 days... so, you can release more than one egg during that time. My friend was on clomid and ovulated 4 eggs not long ago, but only one was mature... but, that one didn't even take. She keeps ovulating more than one egg but still not having luck conceiving... Her eggs aren't mature enough and the ones that are, just arent taking. It takes much more than ovulation to conceive. ___Helene- I am so excited for you! Good luck at your appt. ___Tansy- well, lets hope it doesn't come to having to search for a fertility doc. :) THe reason I asked is because of the problems you've had with your cycle and such.... along with not giving birth yet, and having m/c(s)... that it may be something to look into. I know I never had regular cycles (EVER!) I would go 3 months without AF quite often... I would also only ovulate a couple times a year if Im lucky... Sometimes I would even bleed twice in one month.. There was no such thing as normal for me. I was considering having the endo. test done also to see how it is if I didn't conceive. Yet, after many years of this... I finally found out after my last loss, that I just wasn't producing enough progesterone. Weird how one hormone can screw up so much. Now my hubby is afraid (jokenly) that now I will be a baby making machine since I know what I need. LOL... ___Oh Helene- did you get my post about the book??
