PLEASE HELP! Positive OPK One Day After HSG

I had an HSG yesterday and everything was free and clear. My doctor said to wait 24 hours before having intercourse and we did. To my surprise I had a positive OPK today. I didn't think I'd ovulate for a few more days. Do you think its safe to ttc tonight? Will the dye and X-ray from yesterday be harmful to me today? The doctor did say 24 hours, but I"m still nervous. On the other hand, I don't want to let another whole month go by without trying. I called her and waiting for a call back but woud love some advice! Thanks!

My doctor told us not to try to get pregnant after the HSG until I had a period and shed that lining since radioactive dye was just in there.

HI Shann- the drs. that did my HSG last month gave me NO restrictions at all after mine, and I specifically asked. Even so, its been 24 hrs. so I'd say go for it, especially becuase you are supposed to be "extra" fertile after that procedure- both the dr. and nurse I had said so. We TTC the same cycle as my HSG - right now I'm a very scared, but hopeful 5wks. Good luck! Oh, and I live in the DC area now, but I am from CT and my parents are still there so I visit often. Where are you?

hi duckie- i live outside of new haven on the shoreline. good luck to you with your pregnancy! did you get pregnant in the same cycle as your hsg? we went ahead and tried, so now im in my 2ww. wish me luck!
