Strong Heartbeat 1 Week- Nothing The Next?

Hey. I went in for an u/s I thought I was 10 weeks, the dr said I was only about 8wk4d. I thought this was strange, but I figured my cycles has been irregular I porbably got pregnant later on in the month. During my u/s i saw the hearbeat, doc said it was very straong at 184. She said everything looked good and it was going to be a healthy pregnancy. This was my first baby so I didn't think much about it. 2 weeks later, I started having spotting. I went to the dr and she couldnt find a heartbeat on the monitor. She did a u/s and vaginal u/s and said the baby was gone. How could this be if she told me 2 weeks ago that the hear beat was going so strong? Anyone else have similiar stories?

Similiar story. I was only 8 weeks, the baby was still there, but there was no more hb and it hadn't grown much since i had seen the hb. I had spotting the whole time so I should have known it was doomed. It's been 3 onths and I still cant explain it or understand it. Just know that you did nothing wrong. I've heard it put this way. Our bodies have filters in them and they are supposed to catch the chromosomal abnormalities. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Try to consider yourself blessed that your baby wasn't farther along or even stillborn. Sometimes thats the only blessing I can find to count.

I had the same thing happen to me. I had an u/s at 9 weeks and everything was fine and measured on target. At 13 weeks I had bleeding and cramping and there was no heartbeat at that point. It looked like my baby lived to 10 weeks and then nothing. I was and still am devistated. I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you.

Stef, so sorry. Same thing happened to me. I had a heartbeat at 8 weeks, but at the 10 week ultrasound, the entire embryo had already been absorbed. Just an empty sac. I had no spotting and lots of morning sickeness. I couldn't believe it. It was my fourth miscarriage, but the others were all blighted ova, so when I saw the heartbeat and was so sick, I thought it was a sure thing. I am now pregnant again, about 7 1/2 weeks. Of course I am dreading the next ultrasound.... Take heart though, I have had 4 miscarriages, but also have a beautiful 8 year old daughter, conceived naturally, no progesterone or other meds, who is my little miracle. I conceived her 2 weeks after my first mc.
