Trying Again After A Miscarriage...

My ob told me to wait a month just to give the lining (endometrium) a chance to build up again so the next baby would have a place to implant. I think the 3 month rule is more out of date, from when they thought we needed more time to grieve or wanted to be sure cycle was back to normal so they could date more accurately. Now I think they know we can grieve one and be excited about the next at the same time. Anyway, my experience was that we were told to wait 1 month, then the next month we weren't sure if we were ready again, but the following month we decided to go for it, and voila! So, we're sad to have lost our November baby, but are looking forward to our April baby! I hope the best for you, too. |

I should clarify: we had to wait for one "normal" cycle, but before that, it took about a month from the d&c for me to not show a positive on a hpt and to get the first af. From there, we had to wait for one normal cycle, if that makes sense. So really, the ob had us waiting 2 months (eliminating past pregnancy hormones and then getting one new cycle) and we waited an extra one after that. Don't know if that clears it up or makes it more confusing... |
