I had a miscarriage nearly 2 weeks ago and wondering when its safe to try again. I have heard some people say a month while others have said 2 or 3. My partner and I really want to start trying again asap but naturally I am scared the same thing will happen again, I really dont think I could go through it again, I was 9 weeks pregnant when I miscarried and we already had names picked out and had bought heaps of baby stuff, this baby was already loved so much!!

I would really love to talk to other women who are in my situation or have been through it.

My ob told me to wait a month just to give the lining (endometrium) a chance to build up again so the next baby would have a place to implant. I think the 3 month rule is more out of date, from when they thought we needed more time to grieve or wanted to be sure cycle was back to normal so they could date more accurately. Now I think they know we can grieve one and be excited about the next at the same time. Anyway, my experience was that we were told to wait 1 month, then the next month we weren't sure if we were ready again, but the following month we decided to go for it, and voila! So, we're sad to have lost our November baby, but are looking forward to our April baby! I hope the best for you, too.

I should clarify: we had to wait for one "normal" cycle, but before that, it took about a month from the d&c for me to not show a positive on a hpt and to get the first af. From there, we had to wait for one normal cycle, if that makes sense. So really, the ob had us waiting 2 months (eliminating past pregnancy hormones and then getting one new cycle) and we waited an extra one after that. Don't know if that clears it up or makes it more confusing...

yeah that makes sense thanks, thats great you got pregnant again so quickly, all the best!!

i can see why its best to wait but i guess im just impatient, it took us 6 months to get prenant last time which i know isnt that long but it seemed like forever. Im just really hoping to be pregnant again by the end of the year, or if not then definatly by march which is when this baby would have been due...
