Cramping, Pains, But No Bleeding...miscarriage?

I am 8>5 weeks and have been having what feels like mild menstrual cramps for the past 2 days....then today I started feeling sharp shooting pains that felt like the were going from my belly button down...I also have extrememly so lower back today...but no bleeding at all! Can this still be a miscarriage? How much pain is jsut "stretching uterus"etc...and when is soemthing really wrong?
