Hi Everybody...I had a miscarriage on May 8th of this year. I had my first af after mc on June 24th, the next month I was expecting another normal af. Well...nothing, just spotting around the time it was due. BFN for urine and blood tests. Well, now I have been spotting again this week. I don't know what's going on and it's so frustrating because I want another child so bad and it took me six months to get prego this last time. The Dr. told me to see if my af comes normally this month and if not to come in. Anybody have any ideas for what could be going on?

kristie h - August 16th, 2006 1:46 AM

Hi I had the same thing with af after my loss in feb this year. It has been six months and i am now waiting for my next af to arrive as the doctor has put me on the BCP to sort my hormones out. I have found out after ttc for six months that my uterine lining is only 2mm thick on cd 21 so i have a major hormone imbalance and that is why i can not fall pregnant and it also explains all the spotting i am having between af and why af is becoming irregular. Tell me how you go and i hope i help.
PS: The way your af is is the way mine were after my loss as time went on it only got worse.

paullover your not the only one. i had a m/c on may 25 normal af 28 days later then in june spotted one day then nothing then what i though was my period came a week early lasted a week of spotting and light bleeding. then this month so far nothing and i'am on cd32. ihave a doc appt next week. also had bfn the other day. i will let you know what i find out. keep us posted.

Thank you both so much for your responses. It helps to know that I am not alone. kristie h, did you have a d & c? I did and if you did too, I am thinking that might explain the thickness of the uterine lining. I have not had that checked out, but I will definitely mention it to my dr when I see her. My dr gave me three options, #1 I can wait to see if normal af arrives this month #2 i

paullover - August 17th, 2006 4:38 PM

sorry, i don't know why i got cut off. Anyways, my #2 option is to go on bcp for a couple of months and #3 they said they can give me something to help bring on my af. What I wanted to do is to just wait for my af to come, but after reading how kristie h's only got worse, i might go with the 3rd option. I really don't want to go on bcp, but if I have to i will. This is sooooo frustrating!! Thanks again for you help and I will keep you posted! :-)

kristie h - August 20th, 2006 8:18 PM

Hi Paullover, Yes i did have a d&c and no i didnt want to go on the bcp. I have been told by my gyno and doctor that you may fall pregnant alot faster after the bcp and i will have more of a chance of going full term. If your lining is thin there is no way you will beable to fall pregnant as the lining is to thin for implantation. If you do have a thin lining you are most likeley lacking in the hormone estrogen.

paullover - August 20th, 2006 11:46 PM

Hi Kristie... My only thing with bcp is that I was on it for a year after I had my son, then when I wanted to try and get prego...it took 6 months and then I mc. However, that does make sense and most of the time the dr knows best. If I don't start this month then I will definitely consider that. I will keep you posted and keep me posted on your situation too! :-)

Hi Paullover, How are you? I will keep you updated and i am glade i could help. As you know i have been ttc since my lost in febuary but, i wish what i know now is what i knew 3 months ago. The quicker you do and if you do go on the BCP the faster ttc will be for you. If i went on bcp about three months ago i would be back into ttc by now, after all this i will be ttc for 9+ as i am on BCP only for hormonal treatment. I also have 1 and i have lost two pregnancy since his birth. I hope that all goes well and keep me updated on how you are.

well i guess my body decided to work again i started my period finally!! It took 38 days since my last af but at least it is here. so hopefully paullover you will get yours soon too. i think that i may also go on bc to get my body back into whack cause i hate not knowing if my period is gonna show up or show up 2 weeks late.

paullover - August 22nd, 2006 1:21 PM

Hi...Crystaln, that's great news that you finally started! Kristieh, I think I will take your advice and start bcp again. I am gonig to wait it out another week or so, since that is when my af is due. But if it's a no-show again, then I will definitely make an appt. Thanks guys...I will keep you posted and keep me posted too!! *****Baby-Dust*****

Hi Ladies,
Sorry to barge in, but I have a question for you...My periods have actually become closer together since my miscarriage and d&c...I used to have a 29 day cycle, and now, it has become 25 days inbetween...and the periods have become alot heavier. My doctor is trying to convince me to go on bcp's but, Im just a little nervous about the side effects. I took them 17 years ago, for about a year and a half, but I felt a little sick on them. My doctor says that he'll put me on a lower dosage of the pill, and see if it helps my symptoms. If you ladies can let me know how the bcp's are affecting you, that hopefully will put my mind at ease, and I'll try them.
Thanks for listening, Lisa

Hi ladies, after my d&c I went from a 28 day cycle to a 26 day cycle. I bled ok though, healthy but not overly so. I've just found out I'm 5 weeks pg. Good luck xx

kristie h - August 22nd, 2006 6:04 PM

Hi llisab, How are you? I am going on the pill that is called Microgynon 20 ED and i think that is the lowest dose pill there is. My doc put me on this pill as i have very bad side affects to the pill too and that was on yasmin and some other brand. I dont know if i will get the side affects on this new pill but i have asked dh if he can put up with for three months as i know this will help.

kristie h - August 22nd, 2006 6:35 PM

Hopefulk, CONGRTS!!!!!! I hope you have a healthy 9 months.

llisab - August 23rd, 2006 8:41 AM

Thank you kristie h for your reply. I am going on Alesse, which, when I looked them up, are the same medication in the same dosage as your's.
I will start my pills on Sunday evening. Good luck to you. Keep in touch. Lisa

Hi llisab, i was just thinking if you would like to open a thread, correcting hormone imbalnce befor ttc? I dont know many women on here that are on the bcp and i thought opening a thread for people with hormonal imbalance after a miscarriage would be a great idea. We can help each other through with side affects (hope we dont have any) and our doctor appointments, and when we are ready to ttc we know what we all have been through in the past few months. Just a thought

paullover - August 23rd, 2006 1:31 PM

Well...good news...I finally started a "normal" af, well normal so far. I never thought I would be so excited to start my af. I am starting to chart my temp and see how that goes. I will keep you posted. I also wanted to say that it is so wierd how bc effects everybody so differently. I was on Yasmine for a little over a year and it worked so great for me. The only side effects that I had were positive, weight loss, clearer skin and no more cramps. Just thought I would share. Talk to you soon!!!
