Hello all! I just had my second miscarriage. I am 27 and I had the first m/c in October 05 and had the 2nd yesterday (1/06). They were both extremely early. The first was at 6w5d and the second was at 5w5d. I am going to the md next week and want to know what I need to do/tell him..would you guys recommend blood work??? The pregnancy basically never really gets going. I had an ultrasound and it implanted and everythig and then just kind of stops there according to the md which can be for many reasons. Any advice/stories would be grealy appreciated......

Well there could be tons of things going on. I would have your doc check for PCOS and hormone issues. I had my 3rd m/c in Nov 05 and we finally think we found our answer. It was a long bumpy road...but we are going to try again very soon. Best of luck on your fertility journey. Remember to trust yourself...follow your instincts and most of all trust in God. Baby dust!

Get miscarriage testing! I had 3 early (5-10 wks) miscarriages before I could get a doctor to test me. Turns out I have a blood clotting disorder and needed to be on heparin prior to conception and throughout the pregnancy. My uterus wasn't getting enough blood flow to establish a sufficient lining so the embryo wasn't able to implant properly. It was a rough road, but I have 3 beautiful babies now. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your losses. I also had 3 m/c all around 5-6 weeks last year. My dr made me wait to have tests done until I have 3 m/c. I switched Dr this time and am seeing a fertility specialist now. She ordered tons of blood work and also x-ray of uterus. I'm hoping this would give me some kind of answer.
I think you should ask for tests for sure. If it's preventable now, why wait until 3rd time?
Good luck to you and hope we both will have babies in our arms.

The first thing I would insist on is two (spaced monthly) 21 day progesterone serum blood tests. Low progesterone levels can cause early mc and are easy to treat. Good luck!

First let me say that I am sorry, and two miscarriages in such a short time is almost too much to imagine. So stay strong. That being said, if I were you, I would sit down with your doctor (don't let him or her rush you) and ask him every single question you have. Also ask him what he think you need to do next and that you are not willing to just go blindly into the next pregnancy without at least some testing to see what may be going on. I'm not sure what kind of workup or testing to ask for. I had one miscarriage this past October and it was my first, so they did not do any testing.

DO INDEED SEE A SPECIALIST!!!!!!!! I had too much faith in my dr, I recently had my 3rd miscarriage and I am 36. The 3rd time I was on progesterone suppositories, which I dont think I even needed. He never checked my progesterone level after the 2nd and just made an assumption. I insisted he checked it the 3rd time and the levels were ok. I am seeing a specialist now and will not return to him. I was comfortable with him but do not think he was aggressive enough. Good Luck. This sucks!!!!!!!!! This is such a tease and such an emotional roller coaster. I found out I was pregnant New Years Day and now that has been shattered.

Sharon, yeah I undersnd about ti being a tease. How far along were you for the 3??? I did go to the doctor on Wednesday and basically they cannot do a ton of blood tests and a full work up with my insurance unless I have had 3 m/c...!!! Sooooo, I also have a weird thing called neuocardiogenic syncope where I pass out (very rare and does not happen often..once every 2 years or so it has happened) He is sending me to a high risk OB now for preconcpetion counseling and he may be able to order some tets, so I do not have that appt. until Feb 21 .We will see what he says and then go from there. It is def. hard emotionally. I think I am fine and then you see someone who is pregnant ,etc. and it triggers it. I have to constantly pray for strength:)

Well..... My Aunt just had a miscarriage and they told her to wait until after her first period to try again. They say after you have a miscarriage or a baby that you are really really fertile so maybe you want to discuss with your prenatal doctor what to do.
