what are coomon causes of misscarriage

Miscarriages with in the first 3 months are known to happen for any or a number of the following:
Chromosomal abnormalities represent the single most frequent cause for miscarriages; infections (ie, listeria from uncooked chicken or infections from unpastrized diary products); chronic diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure; problems with the immune system. Some say that too much heavy lifting and too much jumping causes the embryo not to attach properly to the uterus thus causing m/c, but some disagree with this (I personally agree with this one). Drug abuse can also be a cause of m/c especially heroin because it literally detaches the placenta from the uterus. I believe that when there is a problem with the embryo or an infection the body detects that it can not hang on to the embryo and so it ‘lets go’ of it. This helped me get through my loss a few months ago.
After the 3 months if a miscarriage occurs in the 2nd trimester it’s do to abnormalities of the uterus or cervix such as cervical incompetence, in which the cervix begins to dilate too early in pregnancy. This nearly always occurs in the second trimester. Hope this info helps
