hi Jenny, just want you to know that I read several stories yesterday of women who didn't finally show positive until they were between 3-5 months!! Don't give up. Maybe you can search through for some of those stories.

Hey Jenny! I am actually one of those ladies that didn't get her BFP until I was 14 1/2 weeks along, despite having urine and blood tests for pregnancy threw my dr.'s office. My symptoms were severe sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, just all together horribly ill. I had a weird period though, once every 4 months for about 2 days so I actually ovulated right after my period and gotten pregnant and I was not the wiser due to all the - tests. When I redid a urine test and it came up + I was 14 1/2 weeks and my dr did a external examine and said he couldn't feel anything so he guessed I was under 13 weeks along. He did get me in for a u/s right away due to the fact of my 4 month period range and there we saw a healthy 15 1/2 week fetus lol.
So you could very well be pregnant or something else. What I suggest is continue as if you are pregnant and if you miss another AF go to your dr and do another pregnancy test if it comes up - get an ultrasound. You could just be having an unovulatory cycle, despite being regular, and your tricking your mind into thinking your pregnant hence you have your symptoms.

Down yours is exactly the kind of story I am talking about! Thanks for posting. I am praying for a BFP. Hubby is away from home for awhile, and so our timeframes to conceive are almost nil. I wasn't expecting to get pregnant but once the symptoms started and they have continued I find myself getting really excited hoping for it. It has been 4 weeks since sex, so it's still fairly early. I don't get AF so I can't track it that way. Thanks again.

Jenny~It's like you're telling my story! First day of last cycle was July 24 which would put me at approximately 11 weeks, despite all the negative home tests. I have yet to see a doctor, things keep coming up at work preventing me from scheduling an appointment. I have every single symptom you noted, to the letter! It's just so frustrating, but it is a relief to hear that I'm not the only one going through this. I wish you the best outcome in thsi situation, keep me informed and good luck!

Cross you fingers for some answers! I'll be taking (another) HPT with the first morning pee tomorrow! Maybe it'll actually give me some insight as to what is going on! I will post the results tomorrow (though honestly, expecting a BFN)

Hello ladies, I am late as well. Not even a week late yet but this is the longest cycle I have ever had. All tests come back negative, symptoms are: smell sensitivity, dizziness, fatigue, mood swings, light cramping, so could be AF, could be pregnancy I guess. Getting impatient, will wait to test again SUNDAY

Hi again hoping! There is a good chance that it still just may be too early for you to get a strong enough hcg level to show bfp. Best wishes when you test on Sunday. The best thing that we can do for our bodies and our babies (gosh that sounds so good :)), is to try not to overstress in the process of trying to find out. I know it can get hard, but it is so important!

Wishful, be sure to schedule an appt with your dr soon. If you are pregnant you want to get started on your prenatal care right away. Keep us posted.

As for me I am going to wait until maybe fri to retest or maybe I will do it next week. Its crushing to keep seeing bfn especially when u feel so different.

I'm beginning to think that HPTs are an exercise in futility because I have that "I just feel pregnant" feeling. Plus I have symptoms like crazy for weeks and weeks now and I am going nuts without answers as to why Auntie Flow hasn't shown her face for 11 weeks.

I should sue the HPT companies if I find out I am like 3 months pregnant =P That's one way to pay for the Huggies!

I have my fingers crossed for more clear answers tomorrow. Maybe I am just going crazy and the tests are true. I hope not. I don't need to deal with any medical issues now!

jennym, have you considered getting bloodwork done? It is much more sensitive, even planned parenthood only has the urine testing

Yes I would definitely recommend the bloodtest too. The planned parenthoods that I have been in before have all offered bloodtest for pregnancy, it's just not free.

I am going to Planned Parenthood tomorrow and plan on asking for the blood work. I'm hoping it's not TOO expensive, since I'll be paying out of pocket and they don't accept payment arrangements. If it is too expensive, I have another local clinic I spoke to earlier in the week that is willing to work out payment plans, so I will probably be switching to them depending on what, if any, answers I do get tomorrow.

I'll post the results tomorrow when I get home from my appointment. Hopefully I have some news instead of just more delays and unanswered questions.

best wishes Jenny. PP does blood test on a sliding scale fee basis, depending on income and number of people in the household. In my experience, it typically ranges from $25-$40 or so based on those criteria.
I am not sure if you will get your results the same day but usually they can do a 1 day or so turnaround.

Okay, so just got home. After a two hour wait in the waiting room at Planned Parenthood, I finally got in to see a Dr. She insisted on giving a urine test first, which of course came up negative.

At that point, she was about to send me on my way with an oh-so-friendly "Well, there's nothing really we can do for you." Until I started rattling off my symptoms. She tottered away quickly to check with the clinician, and upon returning revealed that she was in fact going to draw blood for a blood test. I believe it is a quantitative blood test, because she said that if I am pregnant, it will reveal how far along I am. The sample is getting sent to the lab tomorrow, and I should receive the answer on Monday afternoon.

If the results are negative, she wants me to come back to the clinic for more blood work to check hormone levels. So, at least it wasn't a complete brick wall like I expected. Almost, but not quite.

And better still, I think the receptionist misunderstood my pay stub, so on the sliding fee scale, I came up as not having to pay anything. Am I a bad person for letting it slide? I hope not. ;)

Jenny, glad to hear that you were able to get a blood test... good for you for standing your ground on the issue! I am sending best wishes your way on the results, and hoping you get your BFP!

As for me, took hpt, and of course bfn :-(. I am going to try to hold out until my drs appt next month before requesting blood work again, but if I don't feel better soon I may just bite the bullet and get a b test. Right now I would be approx. 5-6 weeks pregnant so it's still 'fairly' early compared to others like yourself.

same thing happened to me at Planned Parenthood! I had to fight for that test. I should get results Monday what about you?
