Momof3, with your other children when did your blood work show a positive pregnancy? Was that around the 3 to 4 month mark as well? I did call my endocrinologist about 2 weeks ago to tell him that I am late, and he said "oh, it's just your hormones. Nothing to worry about." It made me mad because I was hoping he would say, "let's test your blood." But, of course, that didn't happen, and now I am worrying like crazy. I am going to call my ob gyn to get an appointment. My husband has hinted that he thinks I am gaining weight around my belly button & below area too. I'll keep you posted on what happens. I keep praying for a sign one way or another to let me know for sure, so keep your fingers crossed.

With all of my pregnancies I did not go to the doctors until I got a BFP. So I don't know if the blood test would have showed positive sooner or not.. I think I'm going to go pay for a blood test at a clinic. Because I know what it feels like to be pregnant and I
"Feel Pregnant". I think I will give it until next week then I will get a doctors appointment. it's been 77 days today yikes!

I changed my mind I set up a appointment for this Friday. I want to know! how long does blood test take to get back??

leanne T - February 23rd, 2005 5:52 AM

My last period was back in December and I hadn't had a period to date. As my periods had always been irregular i was too worried about pregnacy up and till I missed my second period. I started taking 2-3 hpt and each one show neg. My gyno had took some blood and showed that i had a low sex hormone binding globlin and there was no evidence of PCO. that was back in January 22. I have today called by gyno back and she said that I needed to another hpt and a blood test. I am going crazy and don't know what to think any more. I am or am i not pregnant

Hi momof3 and Leanne! First, Leanne, PCOS is so new I really don't know a whole lot about that, but from what I've read from other people, you could very will be pregnant. Listen to your doctor. I think getting a blood test is a great idea. Hang in there! Momof3, I think getting a blood test ASAP is a good move. As far as getting the results, if your doc has a lab at the office, you may get your results the next day. If not, you may have to wait as much as 3-4 days. But, I think your clarity of mind is well worth the test and the wait. I took another hpt yesterday, and it showed a very faint negative after about a minute. Then, about 1hour later there was a really faint thin vertical line (making a plus). I am not sure if this was an evaporation line or not. Any thoughts?

Ok here is a update. I could not wait until Friday so I went to urgent care last night. They gave me a urine test & a blood test. The doctor said the blood uses the same test stick as the urine, so it would be the same results. I did it anyway. I told her my history and she said that it may be too early to tell or I could be pregnant with really low HCG. You think?? I knew that. So she said to go to a OBGYN and have a ultrasound done. Oh yea Both the Blood test & Urine test came out BFN :(

Meg, I'd like to know what's going on with you after your last post. I have the same symtoms and 6 ept tests came out negative.

Sarah M. - February 23rd, 2005 11:10 AM

Well, I think it could be too early. Everyone's body is different. I like to think positively. Just because one person may get a positive test 1or 2 weeks after their missed period, doesn't mean we all will. Stay positive! I also wanted to ask, do you have a lot of white, mucosy disharge? I do. I have it all the time, but moreso when I strain a bit. Is this a common sign of pregnancy?

Meg - February 23rd, 2005 12:02 PM

To N: Thank you for asking, but nothing is happening still no periods. I have done the stomach u/s but doc't didn see anything so according to him I am not pregnant, in contrary mu uterus is a bit smaller than usual because few months without period. I asked him for all the symptoms and he said that probably is because of hormone changes in your body. Ok, he gave me some tablets (progesterone)for 7 days (I am finishing them today) and than I have to wait for one week to get my period and if I don't get them I will have another vaginal u/s. I doubt that I might be pregnant because in that case my uterus would be larger than smaller. I am so dissapointed, but knowing my case that I am very irregular with my periods or better to say I don't get them without tablets, I don't know what I was expecting??? Although I still have the white nipples, blue veins in my breasts and when I touch them they tingle, as well we my vaginal mucus is white and thick and I have that every day and I never experienced this in my life. Moreover, I have constipation recently and I feel hemorroid pains. Hopefully these hormonal changes are for good I dont know what to think. But, I have decided to take VITEX (after it is confirmed once again that I am not prego) to regulate my cycle and maybe will help my ovulation according to some women's experience here. So ladyes Montgomery tubercles are not "THE" sign of pregnancy. Baby dust to all of us ****

Considering the fact that you are 2 months late, you should probably go see your doctor. Have your doctor do a blood test at least that way it will ease your mind and hopefully give you some answers.

leanne T - February 24th, 2005 5:46 AM

Well I did a hpt and it showed negative. Once again really disppointed. I really want to be pregnant. Lisa had you had any luck yet

Sarah M. - February 24th, 2005 11:59 AM

Hey everyone. I am going to the doc later today. I'll keep you posted on what she says. Keep your fingers crossed!

Sarah M. - February 25th, 2005 12:57 PM

Hey everone. I went to the doctor, and she was very reluctant to do a follow up blood test at this time. We just talked about things, but it really helped to just talk to someone who really knows what I am going through. She told me to come back in 2 weeks for some tests, at which time she is going to test my insulin level as well. This is just to rule things, such as PCOS out. She also offered a prescription to get me ovulating, which I may start after my test results. We'll see. I really don't have many questions answered at this point, but it just helped to have her listen...and all of you as well. Thanks!
