Im in exactly the same position I am 7 weeks late but no period I am constantly having tests at the doctors all coming back negative. I dont understand what is going on. I am normally as regular as clockwork until now.. I was due in august and its now october. When I had my first son I had period for 6 months when I was pregnant but now im supposedly not pregnant but have no periods. Anyone else know what is going on? Even guesses are most welcome....

All i can say is wow.For mandy and bunglet, is that is amazing. Well where do i start. I went away in July and had unprotected sex with my DF. Ever since then i had been getting symptoms and all that. We decided to start ttc, and i have been getting alot of symtoms each month. I have been through it all u name it. The only things i have noticed within the last 2 month is that my AF were lighter (2-3) days and mine are normally 5-6 days. Alots of spooting at the beggining and last minth they came 2 days earlier. I have been getting heartburn alot and recetly have been getting up at exactly the same time every night to go to the toilet. i never get up to go to the toilet. i have been getting alot of spots, especially on my back and my boobs have become a bit bigger and darker with the white bumps on them. I have noticed i have become a bit breathless and as my Df is astmatic he evens ask if i want some of his inhaler. especially at night i do be gasoing for air. my tummy feels firmer and after food it looks alot bigger. i'm a small build so never normally noticed this.

Altogether i have taken about tons of hpts. I did a Fr and a faint line came up and as i thought it was too faint i didn't take any notice of it. I did another one a couple of days and that came back negative. I have taken loads of clear blue which all f them have shown up a clear blue line at around the 15 - 20 minutes mark. i know its classed as an evaporation line ut i never seen one before on any other tests? I did one the other night, and i could see a v.v.v.v faint line and showed it to my mum. she said she couldn't see it. So i went out and came back about 20 mins and the line i could barley see was there in a visible blue line. very visible to the eye. i still haven't taken anyother test so don't know what to do. I haven't arranged a doc appointment yet as i am due AF this saturaday, so want to see what happens then. today i feel absolutley exhausted and my boobs are aching a bit! Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanx

The last day of my last period was 8/4/05. I have taken HPT's all thru September, and now in October, and they are all negative. For the last year, and possibly longer, my periods have been exactly clockwork, the 31st or the 1st of each month, arriving in the late afternoon.I have had strange cramping, but no period or even spotting, I have heartburn, nausea, and an enlarged abdomen. I'm super tired all the time, too.I have been pregnant before but was unable to carry it to term, and the way I feel now is the way I felt then. Something in my body feels different. I feel a fullness, a sensitivity in my abdomen, not like pain, but like this exquisite awareness... like every function of my body is centered around my uterus... When I was pregnant before, my HPT came out positive, and i took it pretty early, the same day of my missed period. All these stories are amazing, but has anyone had a positive HPT's with one pregnancy, and a negative HPT with another? And is the lack of hCG indicative of a problem with my baby?

Alli - October 6th, 2005 1:12 AM

Mabel - I am having similar symptoms to you and my last period was on August 13th. My abdomen is also getting larger and I have been very tired. I also have taken pregnancy tests and they have came out negative. A friend of mine had the same situation and she did not find out she was pregnant until after her second missed period and then her hcg levels were high enough to detect pregnancy. She told me that this is somewhat common for some women and that it does not affect the health of the baby at all. I thought I would pass that information on to you. :)

Mabel - October 6th, 2005 3:26 AM

To Alli: Thanks Alli. I've been worried about that. I'd hate to think that there was something I could be doing or have done differently to...I don't know, make this more like a normal pregnancy.

Joannie - October 6th, 2005 11:15 AM

I am going to my doctor tomorrow. I haven't had my period since the end of July, and all my hpts (too many to count) have been negative. I had a urine test at my doc's last week, also negative. She took blood to check thyroid and hormone levels, but I don't know if she check for pregnancy. I feel exhausted and bloated and sometimes dizzy and lightheaded, but not nauseous. I wish I knew for sure.

I am also getting sharp uterine cramps after I orgasm... does anybody know what that's about?

hakunamatata - October 6th, 2005 11:01 PM

mabel- no worries. cramps are normal after orgasm, esp in the beginning, and not a big deal

Alli - October 6th, 2005 11:17 PM

Joannie - Good luck at the doctor's appointment! Keep us posted on what happens. :)

Mabel - October 7th, 2005 12:20 AM

Joannie-Lots of luck today. Your story sounds just like mine, I haven't had my period since the end of July, either. I have an appointment Oct. 12, but I am going to take another(useless) HPT tomorrow morning. I'm praying for an answer, and I'll pray for you, too.

Joannie - October 7th, 2005 10:56 AM

Ali & Mabel, thanks for your good wishes. I'm worried now because my doc put my on Provera to stimulate my period, and she assured me that it was safe if I am pregnant, but I read on the web that it might cause birth defects. I'm annoyed and upset and want an answer. I'm hoping I get one today.

Mabel - October 7th, 2005 11:04 AM

Joannie-I'm sorry. That sucks. Did you ask her if there was an alternative drug or something ? Did you cite those articles you read? This stuff is so routine to them that sometimes you have to ask questions to get them thinking outside the box again. Don't let them make you feel like you can't ask questions , or brush you off with"yeah-sure-don't-worry-about-it-i'm-a-p
rofessional-it's-all-very-common-blah-blah-blah,
either. It's their responsibility to listen to your concerns and take them seriously. what tests did she do, by the way?

Joannie - October 7th, 2005 11:12 AM

She tested my thyroid and she tested my hormones to make sure I'm not menopausal (I'm 40). I asked if she should do a blood test for pregnancy, and she said it wasn't necessary. That was before I read your story! Now I'm going to insist.

Mabel - October 7th, 2005 11:24 AM

Joannie-Your period is ELEVEN weeks late, and she doesn't see the need for a blood test? Am I crazy in thinking that's just ridiculous? I think I heard that Dr's get a bonus at the end of the year if they keep down costs by doing minimal testing and treatment. This is ridiculous. Do we have the right to insist on a blood test? I think I'll go nuts on them next week if they tell me that "a blood test isn't necessary" If we are pregnant, then we should be taking pre-natal vitamins, picking out paint for the nursery and making plans for the future, etc., not waiting for an answer or wiondering about the motives of our doctors...

Joannie - October 7th, 2005 12:10 PM

Mabel, I hear ya. I've been abstaining from wine and even avoiding advil until I know for sure, and my own doctor gives me something that might cause birth defects. I'm going to stop the Provera, whether she tells me to or not.

Mabel - October 7th, 2005 1:26 PM

Joannie, you might want to check out these websites: Thttp://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/pro1361.htm and http://www.rxlist.com/rxboard/provera.pl?read=210 They are very adamant about NOT taking Provera if you even suspect you are pregnant. There is alot more info on the web, too.
