Hi MEGAN - Thanks for your reply!! Marian here! I know I haven't miscarried this time around because I still haven't had my AF and I am now 2 AF's late. If pregnant would be 8 1/2 weeks. I lost my first child to miscarriage at 9weeks, but I knew I was pregnant at 1wk late AF. The pregnancy showed on hpts, and the dr's urine test. Blood tests a couple of weeks later also showed positive. Generally speaking my AF is like clockwork and I have a 26-28 day cycle. The only time I have EVER been this late is when I was pregnant. I had an US on Saturday and they said they saw a 7mm fibroid in the uterus, couldn't find a pregnancy intra or extrauterine, and that there is a 2cm cyst on my (L) ovary. But I have skipped my 2nd AF and I look like I'm about 4mths pregnant which is totally bazzaar and I don't fit into my clothes because of my bulge which has now gone hard and tight. My breasts are enlarged, full and today the nipples have become sensitive to touch. My sense of smell has also become heightened and odours appear so strong to me that I almost want to throw up. My husband is also now starting to call me bear because I'm tired all the time. No sign of morning sickness, but I never had any with my first. What can I say - confusing times!! I've got a specialist appointment on Thursday and I'm thinking about not telling him that I had an US the other day because they seemed to be having trouble finding the (R) side of my uterus (mine is retroverted - back to front!) and letting a baby expert do the tests. I have heard of several other girls who got negative US - one of them even had 4 US 2 internal and 2 external, told no baby and just found out she is 21weeks pregnant, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS MEGAN - I know only too well the sadness attached to losing a longed for child!! I had the miscarriage from hell!! I also had NO D & C. Early + hpts are sometimes a sign of a chemical pregnancy - fertilized, but didn't implant, but AF is usually on time. Also, if you were pregnant you can actually test positive for up to 2mths after a miscarriage as your blood still has traces of HCG. I'm glad that I am in good company and I wish us both a happy outcome and a healthy baby(s) sometime in the very near future!! - Marian

MARIAN, thank-you for your post, its nice to know that others can reply based upon personal experience. I wish you all the luck with your upcoming tests. I'm right at or near ovulation now, and my body gives me no clues or signs and since my a/f is all over the place these days I cant be too sure. hi mandy your story had given me hope although i wasnt as late on my period as you were im only a week late 2 hpt negative and tomorrow ill be having a blood test to see whats up hopefully its a positive cross my fingers ***** congrats on your lil girl i have a 3 year old and shes joy of my life

Hello everyone, I was on here a while back having the same problems, unfortunately I don't have the good news of saying "the doctors were wrong, I'm pregnant" because I am not pregnant. I have not had a period for 6 months now. I have been told that it is likely due to a hormone imbalance spurred by getting off of the pill. I got off the pill 8 mths ago so the effects should be gone by now but apparently not. I have done some researching and found that my period problems, combined with some other symptoms I have such as fatigue, mild depression, poor sleep, and a recent abnormal pap smear can be caused by having too little progesterone in my system. Hormone imbalances stink, it's like having 1/2 a year of PMS but I just wanted to share this to let you know that if the pregnancy thing doesn't pan out consider other things such as a hormone imbalance. They can test this I believe but I am not sure. I am looking into a natural progesterone cream or may see if the IUD I am fixing to get will give me enough progesterone. Anyway, maybe this will help someone, maybe not. Good luck to all. . .

I am new to this forum, but have been reading all of your stories. I stop taking my pills on Nov. 27(mid cycle). The following Thursday, AF came to town. That period was pretty normal. Then on Dec. 29 I started spotting for three days. On Jan. 1, I bled, the next day I had a very dark brown spotting (sorry I know thats GROSS). I was supposed to start again on Jan. 30 but nothing so far. I have taken 5 hpt and all are neg. I have a doctors appt. this coming Tuesday to see what he has to say. What are you guys thoughts?

JESSE... it sounds to me that its all a hormonal thing after coming off of the pill. I wouldnt worry too much unless your next 2 mos or so are still the same, you could ask to it could be possible although i dont think so but spotting can be implantation bleeding as well as and /or early miscarriage. you could put together a timeline of unprotected sex , but it really sounds like a hormonal imbalance to me. I ve been there my periods are all over the place after a m/c and ive seen about 4 docs ive done tests you name it!! lets say im really getting to know the female anatomy...lol. well i took a pregnancy test and blood test says that i am not pregnant im so depressed i feel pregnant im 8 days late now hope fully ill have the same luck as mandy did cross fingers in a week if im not gonna get my period then ill ask for a U/S hopefully my doc will be up to it...you know how those damn doctors are when every thing is negative and they tell you its all in your head lol ill keep you guys posted guys BABY DUST ******

I just want to say Mandy's story was so inspiring! I have not had a period since November 2005. I moved house in December so I just put it down to the stress of moving, but when I didnt get my period in January as well I was getting slightly worried. I have been having headaches, swollen breasts with very sore nipples, my veins are more visible than usual, I have been having period-like pains and last week I was constipated all week, I have been feeling nauseous but no vomiting. I went to see the nurse this morning and she did a test which I have to say didnt help atall when she said "I havent done on of these for a while" and then telephoned another nurse to ask if 2 lines was negative or positive and she then told me it was negative. I was shocked, I am so sure that I am pregnant and my b/f was as shocked as me. I am going to do another test next week and I have been referred to a doctor, I go on 1st March.

MICHELLE B--- good luck to you!! I as long as i can ever remember 2 lines is positive, in all tests i've ever done so if you had 2 lines clearly and with all your symptoms i'd retest ASAP. good-luck and keep us posted.

Hey everyone...I haven't had my perios for almost 3 months. I took a hpt but it came out negative. Then I went to my Dr. and took a test there. It also came out negative. I have been extremely exhauted for the past months but no signs of pregnancy. She had me take a blood test for my thyrois level (hypothyriod) and I thought that could be it since I did some research and my symptoms are very similar. I just found out today that my thyroid levels are normal. Now I am really worried! Does anyone have any advice???

Hi Anna! I have done quite a bit of research on the net as I have been having lots of pregnancy symptoms and I have been getting negative HPT's. I have discovered that missed periods can be caused by various things. If you have been having unprotected sex then Pregnancy is the most likely reason, however, cysts seem to have very similar symptoms, I have read that these can go away on their own, however, my friend had one the size of a tennis ball and had to have it removed (she experienced abdominal pain and bloating as well though). It could also just be a hormone inbalance. Your best bet is to go to your doctor, but make sure they give you some answers as from my experience some of them seem to fob you off. Let us know how you get on!

P.S. I just want to give an update. I retested this morning and it was negative, but I still have no signs of periods and my breasts are extremely sore. I have gone from a size 10 to a size 14 in one month (but the clothes are only too tight on my breasts and my stomach). Anyway, I will try to be patient and when I see the doctor on 1st March I will hopefully get some answers!!

so sorry to hear, it seems really easy to just sit back and wait doesnt it,but the anguish of not knowing whats going on is overwhelming. we are now in our 6th month of ttc after our miscarriage my 3 closest friends and their hubbys have all conceived and heading to their 5th and 6th months, this is absolutely destroying me! nothing medically is wrong apparently from all the tests but then why is it taking so long when they got it first shot. well i hope all goes well for you march 1st and my a/f is due like today or tomorrow so i'll keep you posted. take care and all the best..........MEGAN
