I am not going to be on here for a while. No real need except to follow up on everyone. As far as my daughter goes, she had gotten her period finally, was really sick a few days and now feels much better but a sore throat now. I told her Mandy's story and she said she didn't think she herself could be preg. anymore cuz she got her period. Her period was much different this time. If anything developes I will let you all know. Thanks for letting me pop in and out and put in my 2 cents.
Blessings to you all.
Connie

My goodness - so many of these stories hit home... I'm over a week late or at least I think I am - I haven't had my period since the birth of my daughter over a year ago. I called the doctor on 3/22 with pains in my lower abdomen and she said I was probably ovulation for the first time. Well I never got my period and my husband and I were together the day before I supposedly ovulated. I have taken several HPT's all to come out negative. I did get a blood test done today only because I have a history of Ectopic pregancies. I was starting to give up hope that I could be pregnant and this could be a healthy pregnancy - but reading your stories is giving me hope again! THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING YOUR PERSONAL STORIES! Even if mine doesn't turn out good - it was still really nice to read all of your good news! Good Luck to you all! God is definitely full of miracles!

itwas good to read your story, and it goes to show we really do know our own bodies better than what docs know about anything! congrats mandy :o)

I was 20 weeks pregnant before my doctors realised i was actually pregnant, they even had me thinking i was imagining it. I had pregnancy tests, blood tests, examinations by obgyns and midwives and no-body found my little girl until 20 weeks. Not like she was small either, she was delivered 5 weeks early because she weighed 9lbs. A scan is the only way to be sure so insist on it if your unsure.

Hello to all. Congrats Mandi!!! Okay, so heres the scoop. I had a tubal ligation about 81/2 years ago. My peeriods are like clock-work eveery month the same time, same length, same cramps. Well, in Jan I had a slightly light period and very short. It is now April 15th and no hide nor hare of a period. Some cramping off and on. I have taken 2 or 3 HPT and had a blood test as well. All negative!! My doctor thinks I have lost my mind. And to boot I work in Womens Services as a nurse and think I am losing my mind. I know all the signs and symptoms and we have had women come in and swear they did'nt know they were even pregnant and that they thought it was early menopause. Okay, so I really think I am pregnant, I feel flutters. I have 4 kids previously. But I am so scared to get an ultrasound I want this so bad. I feel so torn. I made a deal with a co worker that if I have'nt started my period by May 13th that I would get an ultrasound. I cried because I don't want these feelings to go away. And if I have an US and it is negative I will be so disappointed. But like I said I AM 3 months late. I hope its not all in my head and the flutterings are just gas and I am going nuts.

I got my period 4 days ago. Just thought to let u know. Good luck to you all

I'm beginning to think that urine tests just don't work on certain women. I have been having pregnancy symptoms since Feb., and even look 4 months pregnant already. Obgyn says not pregnant (but only did urine test not blood test) but can give no explaination for the symptoms. I recently did a hpt noted for an evaporation line after a certain time period, and I didn't even get that to show up!

Mandy - YAAAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Congrats! I was out of town last week but wondered how things went for you. I am glad to hear the news and that there's no illness causing your symptoms....just a happy little baby girl in there! You'll have to pass on this story to her sometime down the road - she just might follow the same pattern as both you and your mom have! At least she'll have a good idea that this could happen and avoid all the craziness that you've been through. Happy day to you!

stacey - April 18th, 2005 4:40 PM

Mandy- were you ever pregnant before? If so, were you able to get a line on hpt then?

Mandy - April 18th, 2005 6:42 PM

Stacey- No I have never been pregnant before. This is my first pregnancy and I never got a positive on a hpt. All of mine kept coming out negative. If it wasn't for this ultrasound then I would have never found out for sure.

stacey - April 18th, 2005 9:26 PM

Congrats- I was just wondering b/c I m/c in Jan, had a pos Hpt, but now had af, barely..but neg tests and lots of symptoms...even started to get lots and lots of veins last night- they showed out of nowhere- never seen them before- even hubby was amazed! I also have heartburn, slight nausua at times, backache, headache, congestion and slight weird feeling in boobs. Don't know what's going on and don't want to mislead myself. sigh - I'll wait and see how symptoms go :) CONGRATS AGAIN! and thanks for sharing your miraculous story!

Pam - April 19th, 2005 7:18 AM

Congratulation Mandy, You have given me hope. I had a tubal ligation 20 years ago. Feburary I started seeing several signs of pregnancy. So far all my pregnancy test have come back negative both blood and urine. I scheduled a pap smear test because my doctor did not believe me due to the pregnancy test, while getting a pelvic exam she commented that my uterus felt very full and inlarged so I asked her if I could be pregnant and she said it ws possible so she did a nother blood test which came out negative and because she also found out I had a slight bladder infection and the test were negative she called in a prescription. I am afraid to take the medicine because I still think I am pregnant. She did say that she would be setting up an appointment for a u/s but I have not gotten the call about when yet. I would be about 11 weeks pregnant if I am. I hope I am because my husband and I have no kids together. I have mine and he has his and it would be nice if we could have ours.I just wish I knew this is killing me not knowing.

Mandy - April 19th, 2005 3:20 PM

Pam- I know exactly what you're going through because I went through the drama for over 15 weeks, and luckly for me, I turned out to be right. Your body has a way of letting you know something is going on and I listened to my body even though doctors and tests said otherwise. I went through all kinds of drama and it was a headache to be honest, but I refused to believe the test results because I had a feeling deep down that I was right regardless of what all the tests said. I love how doctors assume that they are always right and that they know your body more than you do. That's a bunch of crap if you ask me because nobody knows your body more than you do. The whole ultrasound thing mad me mad too because I went to the doctor in the middle Feb., and my family doctor referred me to have the u/s done, but it didn't get scheduled to be done until the 29th of March, then when the 29th came, I still didn't get it done because my doctor never sent over the paper work to the new doctor, so the new doctor scheduled it for the 13th of this month. There is no reason why anyone should have to wait 2 months to get an u/s done because what if something other than pregnancy was going on. It's nice to know that they were considering my health and wellbeing! Just hang in there, that's all I can really say. If you feel that the tests are wrong, then keep pushing for answers until you get a clear answer as to what is going on because it's obvious that tests can be wrong.

kelly - April 19th, 2005 10:00 PM

Wow, this is really amazing. I had no idea that stuff like this happend. I went off the pill in August and it took a while to have a period, at the start, it showed up after 46 days. I was pretty regular since then, about 33-36 days between periods. Had my last period on March 2, which was 49 days ago! Had 2 neg HPT, went for blood work yesterday it as negative too. They said to call in a week for another test if it is still not here. Was feeling nauseous, bloated the past 2 weeks but has been better since, so maybe it was my imagination. I don't feel like I am pregnant, but just am wondering what's going on down there!! Thanks for sharing your stories and keeping us posted!
