Wow, this is really amazing. I had no idea that stuff like this happend. I went off the pill in August and it took a while to have a period, at the start, it showed up after 46 days. I was pretty regular since then, about 33-36 days between periods. Had my last period on March 2, which was 49 days ago! Had 2 neg HPT, went for blood work yesterday it as negative too. They said to call in a week for another test if it is still not here. Was feeling nauseous, bloated the past 2 weeks but has been better since, so maybe it was my imagination. I don't feel like I am pregnant, but just am wondering what's going on down there!! Thanks for sharing your stories and keeping us posted!

Hello everyone, I am in the same situation. I am now 2 & half months late with no sign of bleeding or spotting not even a little bit of pink. My symptoms are: Nipples tender and slightly on brest with occasional shooting pains. Lower abdominal discomfort, (not sure what else to call it), some headaches, sligh queeziness during the day but nothing severe, burping quite alot, & feeling like I just want to sleep at my desk. I took a HPT when I hit the 2nd month missed, it was NEG. A week later I did a Quantitative blood test and the man said my level is 0.0. Hope thats normal. Not sure what to do, just waiting because there is nothing else I can do, I live in Cyprus you see and here, the doctor's are barely approachable, they tend to gang up on foreginers. Sorry to hear of everyone's problems. Thanks for taking the time to read this, it helps to talk about it!

I am in the same boat as most of the people in this forum. I am Two weeks late and have gotten 2 negative hpts. In the past i have had a cyst on my ovary that made me 5 days late so i thought that maybe that was going on again. Not sure...could be pregnant but im just confused. After Mandy's story i have hope but i have a Dr.'s appt May 9th. ugh...3 weeks. Baby dust to all!

michelle - April 21st, 2005 12:41 PM

it is so nice to find this thread. i am 10 days late and have taken gosh maybe 8 tests, all negative. i have three children already but i recently remarried and we wanted to have children of our own. i am 32 and have never been more than 2 days late unless i was preg. the only symptom i have is sore boobs and fuller boobs, which is rather nice :), a little bit of heartburn and some minor cramping, which i never get with my p., but...the only thing i can think of is that i am pregnant. i am going to try and wait another week before i test again, ha ha. and then maybe schedule an appt. if nothing happens. it is so nice (sort of lol) to see that others are going thru the same thing. i hate when other people tell you that you'e crazy and you don't know. sometimes you just know, no matter what the test says.

Congrats Mandy!! I just found this thread and read it from beginning to end and I was SO happy when I got to the part where you found out you were in fact pregnant! Pam and everyone else keep us updated on how your appointments go! Baby dust to all!

Angie - April 22nd, 2005 7:46 AM

Congrats Mandy, sooo happy for you. Please keep us updated with everything. Your story has been an inspiration for I think all of us, you and your body have given us new hope. Thanks. I was just wondering how many of you have had Quantitative Blood tests negative but still feel they may be pregnant, was your blood test a quantitative or qualitive Mandy. Thanks

Hi- I am in the same position as you were just about 2 weeks earlier. I went to the Dr. this week and they finally did a blood test. The test came out negative I am assuming because they told me to come pick up a presecription for progestrin and it will start my period again. I do not want to do that as since this week started I have been feel sick on and off all week. Alot of discomfort or pressure type feeling in my pelvis. I know that if I am pregnant that the Progestrin can hurt the baby or lead to a miscarriage. So I am really not happy about that. My husband and I were trying to conceive using ovulation tests and everything. I am overweight so I thought maybe that could be causing my menstrual cycle to stop. I was regular though for the past year. Any info let me know.... Thanks All
ps. Mandy thanks for submitting your story so I know it is a possibility.

Mandy - April 22nd, 2005 3:22 PM

Angie- I’m not exactly sure which blood test was done on me. All I know is that when I had a blood test back in Feb., my family doctor didn’t check my hCG level. She checked my thyroid, and some other hormones to make sure they were functioning normally. I don’t know why she didn’t check for hCG, she wasn’t very helpful to be honest. I went to the Emergency room back in March, and they did a blood test too, and that came back negative, but I’m not sure whether it was quantitative or qualities. All I know is that it was negative.
Sheri- I too am over weight, and I have never had a problem with my cycle until now. I have always been very regular, which is why I knew that something was going on. My doctor also prescribed Progestin, but I didn’t even bother to take my prescription to the pharmacy because I had a feeling that I was pregnant and I didn’t want to take anything that would harm the baby, and it’s a good thing I listened to my body. I wish you the best of luck.

I am not alone, and I thought that I have no chance. Of course my intuition, my symptoms, plus one positive HPT would be probably enough to know that I am PG, but when after that I've got negative HPTs, 2 negative blood tests, plus doctors telling me that I am probaly not PG, then of course you start doubting. But after I read stories here on the board, I feel much better. BTW, both doctors told me that my ovaries looks good too, no signs of cycts or any other abnormalities shown yet. I also learned that I need to ask doctor to make me a quantity blood test, which I will definately do. Little bit about myself. I am 35 yo. I have one daughter, she is 17 yo. I have no idea what the scenario was with her, because I was pg back in my country in Lithuania, and there they don't take blood tests for pregnancy, they take some sort of samples form servix, and have their own levels of something I don't even know what exactly. When she was 5, I had another pregnancy, but unfortunately had to have an abortion. Never got pg after that, never wanted and never tried, actually had protected sex all the time. So my uterus probably don't even remember my 1st pregnancy, so it should be acting as it's my 1st after almoust 18 years. About my symptoms: I have a little nausea, but I've been taking calcium every day, even before my pg, and continue now. I had spotting for one day on my first missed period, and then for 3 days on my 2nd missed period. I can't even call that a big deal, because it was very light pink, and appear only after I urinate and wipe - you can see pinkish. Not even pantyliners needed to be used. My breasts are very sore, heavy and tender. Another thing I always feel like I have something inside me, esspecially if I lie on my stomack. I have very light cramps all the time. And I feel also gasy. My belly very hard and looks like biger then used to be. I had lipo about 6 years ago, so my belly was very flat. Another thing that I eat everything and a lot of calories, but I gained only 3 pounds, so energy goes somewhere. When I went to dentist they couldn't stop my blood from my gums, and doctor said not to worry - it's normal for pg women. I start fixing my teeth way before I've got pg, and I never had any problems with gums. You know even when they say that you can imagine all in your head, then I can tell you one thing - not in my case. I wanted to get pg, but at that moment when I consieved I wasn't even thinking about it. I had to go to Lithuania (my native country), because I needed to get my daughter here. That batle for her Green Card took us almoust 3 years, and in February we were going there to pick her up. I was busy with things we had to do, I didn't even count when I was ovulating. When we came back, the next weekend we went to Disney World, and I thought how stuppid of me were to plan that trip, because my period had to start right then. I packed tampons, pantiliners, and we went. When fist day passed I thought oh, well, maybe tomorrow, but no tomorrow, and even after 3, 4, 5 days late I still thought that maybe stress from traveling, change of climate, but it will come any day now. Now I am 75 days late, and I don't think it's can be anything. I always been very regular. So no imagination here, plus how can you imagine spotting? And may favorite sweets, I would never imagine that I dislike them, I am a sweets maniac, even though not a fat one :) With my 1st pg though I eat sweets more then usual, and if I was imagining, then I would eat more sweets, since that was my prevoius experience. Anyway I will be posting more, hopefully not that much. Sorry that I made you girls read all my story.

Michelle B - April 25th, 2005 3:23 AM

Hey, Congrats Mandy!
Here is my story. I am now almost 5 weeks late. My last period was Feb. 23. I have had some cramping and nausea on and off, frequent peeing, and enlarged abdomen. I no what it is like to be preg. (I had a baby 5 months ago) but I don't see how I could be. I know it is possible, but we have protected sex(condoms), no b/c. I guess maybe I don't want to believe it because my baby is so young! By the way, I have took 4 HPT and all have come out neg. There are two times I have ever been this late and both of them I was pg. I am going to call the doc tomorrow and try to get in this week. We will see and I will keep you posted! G/L to everyone.

Nat - April 25th, 2005 1:38 PM

Mandy, I am just curious. Did you ever try to take more tests, even after you knew that you are pg? I probably would, just for statistics.

Nat - April 25th, 2005 1:43 PM

And another Q. I have. Did you ever went to those Doc. who told you that you are not pg? I wonder what their's respond to that would be? I just don't know why Doctors stopped to follow regular natural symptoms, and being denial. And why they trust only naked tests? That just doesn't make any sence any more. Esspecially having several women a day, they should know, that this kind of things happened.

melisa - April 25th, 2005 8:44 PM

mandy your story is what is making me still have hope. I got a negative blood test which they said was supposed to be the amount from the emergency room, and it was negative, which i just can't belive, my stomache is starting to get hard, i've never missed before and i'm on my second no show period. all the tests are negative and everyone keeps telling me to trust the test and the er doctor (who wasn't even certified in obgyn) and to just accept it, but i can't, i'm healthy, a bit overweight, never had proelbems before, had sex around the time of ovulatoin, he does have a low sperm count, but we concerved our time every few days for that. I just can't accept i'm not pregnant, i've never had sore boobs, not even during a period, and now i have these dark blue veins, and they hurt, feel like an icy fire. I know that i know that i know that something is going on, but no one wants to help me celebrate till i know for sure. mandy if you have any advice, my e-mail is all4god1999@yahoo.com. I think i'm going to go to a obgyn in june and see what she says........but i just don't want to give myself false hope either. I just can't figure out what else this could be. symptoms, sore breasts, change in taste buds (now mild stuff seems extremly spicy to me, like pepper, and taco bell mild sauce, before i could down packets and nothing) back cramps, last period feb 28th, cleary mucus discharge all the time, queezy at different times during the day, very sleepy, and congestied in my nose, but not sick coughing or anything. also higher temps, normally i'm 97.2 i've been up to 98.5-99.5 for the past 1 1/2 months. someone help me :)

Monique - April 25th, 2005 10:53 PM

WOW.....first off, congradulations to Mandy, that is GREAT news. Here is my situtation. I am now 19 DAYS LATE!!!!! My LMP was on March 11/05. Last week, I took 3 HPT (ClearBlue, not digital). Tuesday's test showed a very faint positive, so I took the 3rd one on Friday morning (04/22)...Had another faint Positive (but a bit clearer than Tuesday's)....So, on that Friday, I went to see my family Dr., who made me take one of their urine test and Blood Test (quantitive...result was -2...don't know what that means...), Both came out Negative....Still no period, so I took another HPT (used First Response this time) this morning (Monday, April 25/05)....and it came out Negative......Saw another Dr today for a regular scheduled Pap Test who also told me that there was not way I was PGNT....Same as my Family Dr....they keep insisting that the tests, especially the Blood Tests, are soooooooooooo Acurate....and that if I was PGNT, I would have that HCG hormone in my blood stream........I AM SOOO CONFUSED....I am feeling nauseous a bit throughout the day, very sore nipples to the touch, and I keep having A LOT OF TINGLING sensations in my lower Belly....sometimes it feels like gas, but nothing "happens".....it just keeps on tingling....I sometimes feel like my periods are gonna start, but they don't...I am emotional, but that can be due to all of the stress and confusion I guess........I just don't know who or what to believe......I am in tears now, as I am typing this message.....Dr's kinda make me think I'm imagining this......Maybe i'm not, but I REALLY FEEL DIFFERENT........I also bought another kind of HPT (I tried ClearBlue, got faint positives, I tried First Response, got negative.....) If @ the end of this week, still no period, I will try ClearBlue Digital.......I just don't know what to believe....I kinda agree with them in a way that if you are PGNT, It would show in the Blood Tests for sure....but after reading ALL OF YOUR STORIES, I am now more confused...hehe, sob sob.....Anyone have advice or something????? I would greatly apreciate it....I will also keep reading this site and keeping you girls up to date....Good luck to you all, and to me....xox

Melanie - April 26th, 2005 5:31 PM

Pam - I'm hoping you got good news on Friday at your u/s. You're in my thoughts. For all those testing a zillion times (who isn't??!), here's a link to Aimstick pregnancy tests: http://www.babyhopes.com/pregnancytests.html - 10 pack of strips for about $20 - they're the type you use by piddling in a cup and dipping the strip. The midstream type cost more. Also, the strips are more sensitive (detection level: 20 mIU/ml hCG) than other tests you buy at the store. The midstream detects 25 mIU/ml hCG. We're waiting a little while after a couple of miscarriages but I think I'll snatch up a pack of these when we're trying again. It's sure a better deal than what's at the store. Take care.
