9 Months PP And Late For AF

Hi, I am 9 months pp since having my ds2. We have been diligently using condoms and dh is certain he didn't screw up on that account...BUT I am late for AF. I started getting my period again at 4 months pp. I was having 38 day cycles. My last AF started on 15th Jan. Well, the 22nd Feb came and went. Now I am 12 days late. I was having bad cramping and the feeling AF was coming from the 20th-22nd Feb. I took a HPT on the 27th Feb and it came back negative. Was it too early to test?
