How Soon To Test After Implantation Cramps?

I had painful cramps last night, and the night before. Each episode lasted like 3mins, and than gradually went away. It was in the adominal to around pelvic area. Is this what implantation pain feels like? And if it is, how soon after I feel this pain should I do a HPT before it shows a positive result?

Not to scare you or anything, but painful cramps and pain around your pelvic area is not normal. Actually it's a sign of an ectopic pregnancy.
