Hi Kate, I just read your forum and I have been experiencing all the same symptoms, I am not late yet, however I did take a couple of HPT and they turned out negative, I am going to wait until I am a couple days late (this weekend) until I test again.

Just wanted to let you know my story of hope and say what an immense support this board is. I didn't get a positive hpt until this tuesday evening when I was 8 days late. I did 3 tests (one on first day of missed period, one on day 4 and one on day 5) and they all showed negative. I did another test on weds morning (9 days late) and sure enough it was positive. Just waiting for the results of my blood work. Just wanted to let you guys know not to be disappointed if you are getting negative hpts. You may be testing too early. Good luck to all of you.

I have been trying ti get pregnant for 3 months. I never realized the complexity of getting pregnant ! It's hard not to get obsessed when you want something to happen. I am 3 days late, but have no symptoms and I had a negative pregnancy test. I guess you just have to be patient and keep testing until it goes positive or until you have your period !

Hi Everyone, the last pregnancy test I took came up negative but the next again morning it was showing a very faint positive line? Is this possible or am I just going mad??? Maybe I'm just obsessing too much about getting a positive result?

yes, it happened to me, and the way i found out was i went to get birth control and the doc came in the room and said congrats mommy! my heart dropped into my stomache. now he is four and i wouldn't have had it any other way!! :)

Statistically, 10% of all pregnancies end in early miscarriage, the mother never even knowing. This would account for a late period with a negative HPT. It happened to me back in April, BUT BECAUSE I HAD BEEN TRACKING MY TEMPERATURE, I knew I had the miscarriage. I did a 4-day early HPT 2 days before my expected period. It was positive, but very faint. I did one every 12 hours after that, for a total of 5 tests, each one becoming fainter. The day my period was due was the 5th VERY faint positive HPT. I went that afternoon for a blood test, which was negative. BUT once my doctor looked at my temperature chart, he believed me over the hospital blood test because my temperature remained elevated - a sign of pregnancy. For those of you who are trying so hard to get pregnant, let me recommend a book which will help you get pregnant. It is called "Your Fertility Signals" by Merryl Winstein. It will explain to you how to track your mucus, temperature, and even uterine position to maximize your chances of conceiving. You will be able to throw away those HPT's because (from page 35) "If there is no menstruation 17 days after obvious fertile mucus ends, you are probably pregnant. A continuously high basal temperature for 17 days after obvious mucus ends confirms pregnancy, unless you are ill and have a fever". GOOD LUCK TO ALL !!!

My period is now 4 and a half weeks late. I've taken several hpts and all have been neg. I've had many of the early pregnancy symptoms also, even before I took my first hpt. dizzy, really tired, moody, and nausea. A lot more recently it's been the same symptoms + tingly/sore nipples, smells, A LOT of peeing, and sore abdomen. Has anyone else had this?? I'm trying to go to planned parenthood to get a test in the morning. Good idea?? I'm 24 & married, so it's no big deal either way, I'd just like peace of mind.

Maria you said that it 10% of pregnancies end in miscarriage with the mother never knowing, would a miscarriage not trigger a period or show of blood or is it possible that I wouldn't have this until the end of my cycle when my period is due? I haven't had any sign of blood at any point since my last period, not even in my discharge? I think I'll just have to be patient and try another test in a weeks time. Hi Kelly, I am nearly two weeks late and like you I am very regular, I have taken to pregnancy tests and both have come up negative. I have no other feelings of pregnancy and I use contraception. I am going to see my doctor tonight but I am afraid I have no answers. Though judging by the various internet sites I have been on, missing a period even when regular is more common than you think. good luck

was late by 47 days (6.5 weeks). Normaly I am regular. I was having all Preg. symptoms like nausea, tiredness, tender brest. Took 3 HPT at gap of week all came out negative. But I was positive in my mind & finally I started bleeding on 12th Nov ( My LMP was 27th Aug'04). I cried a lot that day because we are TTC for last 2.6 years. ( Misscarried once before a Year). Hello. my husband and i are trying to have another child. I stopped taking the pill as of last month. Last period was Nov. 22-23 2004. I know it is to early to say if i am preg. but HCG test. But i have stoamch discomforts, i feel like my breast are alittle sore, change in what i eat, tried more and i have been getting dizzy and lightheaded more now. I know i can't find out until at least Dec. 24-25 2004. But i just don't know if that is all preg. sx. (dizzy and lightheaded part). Thanks

Kelly, my period was late and i took a home pregnancy test and it showed up negative at first, but i knew that it was wrong because my period was always regular, and i had some symptons, so i went to the doctor and i was pregnant

I got off pills 2 mo ago. My next period came after 21 days (normal 28), then the next one did not come. I am now 7 days late. I had 3 home tests done, all negative. I still hope I am pregnant. Is it possible?

2 MONTHS LATE. 7 NEG HOME TESTS NEG QUANTATIVE BLOOD TEST. HORRIBLE LOWER BACK AND LEG PAINS. FINALLY GOT OB/GYN VISIT IN AND I HAVE A CYST ON MY OVARY THAT IS STOPPING MY PERIOD. DOC SAYS EASY TO TAKE CARE OF WERE WAITING TO SEE IF IT GOES AWAY ON ITS OWN W.BC PILLS

I am 2 days late (I'm nenver late) and last nigh I took a home preg.test and it came out neg. I am taking Clomid, I feel prego. What should I do? Should I wait?
