why dont you people relax and let nature take its course. you are all a nervous reck and the stress of wanting a baby soooo bad is whats making you miss your period and even having symptoms. just dont think about it and stop wasting time and money on those tests. when you are really pregnate you will know for sure. just chill. later |

Wow!! I can't believe how many people are having this problem with the home tests. I am also having a hard time finding the oh so wonderful positive sign. What a pain in the rear. I almost wish I could talk to the thing and tell it how pregnant I feel. I read online somewhere that most tests will give you the correct answer in the 4th or 5th week. But don't they say on the box 4 or 5 days before you miss your period? Whatever. It is very frustrating and the feeling that there is something wrong with you doesn't help the morale. I guess all we can do is hang in there and hope for the best. Keep positive ladies and when you do find out, no matter what the outcome, by yourself a nice present! We deserve it!!! |

I'm 8 days late, and have NEVER missed a period. I have taken 2 tests (about to be three) and surprise, surprise, Negative... i wasn't planning on becoming pregnant, i'm only20 and i'm trying to go to school, but i can't help but feel excited at the thought that i might be...i have an appointment on wednesday (blood test) so wish me luck! Good luck to all of you ladies...BOO ON HPT's!!! |

when i was pregnant last, i did 5 tests and each were from 5 days consecutive but 3 were negative and 2 positive (as in 1 day + next day -. day after + etc...) in the end i took them all to the chemist and asked what was going on as i had used first morning urine with all and was about 6 days late.....so you see it can be very difficult in finding out. however my daughter is now nearly 2 and i'm 8 days late and 3 tests have revealed nothing so i'm just waiting again, what a problem all this waiting and doing tests is!!!!! |

(Breast discharge could be due to) too much prolactin. You might miss a period (or more than one) if your brain is producing an abnormally high level of the hormone prolactin. A woman's body usually makes prolactin when she's breastfeeding, which is why menstruation generally stops at this time. If this is what's happening to you, you may notice a milky discharge from your nipples. This condition can usually be treated with medication. |

If you normally have a clockwork cycle, one thing to check is your typical luteal phase. Apparently the luteal phase is generally consistent while the ovulation date could be affected by stress and other factors. If one has kept a good BBT chart, one can probably check the likely ovulation date and add the typical luteal phase to determine whether the late period is due to pregnancy or a delayed ovulation. This is one factor that most information sites do not highlight enough. In fact, the significant temperature to watch for post ovulation (as an early sign of pregnancy) would be the temperature on the date around the end of one's luteal phase rather than cycle day. |
