Oops sorry, forgot to list my "symptoms"
-Cup size has grown a full size in 2 months -- have tons of stretchmarks that were never there before either!
-Very sore nipples
-Extremely tired
-Dry mouth
-Forgetfulness
-A weird tight feeling in my left/lower abdomen area

Bleeding could be caused by the placenta digging in which also causes some cramping.

Can someone help me? I was to start my period on December 23rd. I havent started and i have taken dozens of hpt's and they have all come up negative. i called my doctor and she said that i could be just skipping my cycle. i went off the pill in august, since i went off i havent had an irregular cycle. but what are the odds it would be this month?

Hey guys! I found this site a few days ago when I was looking up symptoms online. It is very incouraging to see others going throught the same things. I have never been late before, but when on a trip 11/19 not expecting to start my period until the 24th. My husband and I were not trying, but have not always made the smartest decisions in the heat of the moment. The day of the 20th I had my period. Now I am 2 wks late and don't know what to think. This was obviously not planned but I am having symptoms like backaches, headaches, abdominal cramping and vaginal discharge. My husband thinks that my cycle has been messed up because of my late period being early. I took a test on 1/3 it was negative. I am planning on taking one more test in about a week, if it is still negative I will make an apt. with my dr.
I was not excited at first because of the surprise, but find myself very disappointed and discouraged at my first test result. I am thinking of you all and GOOD LUCK! Let me know of your thoughts and suggestions.

I posted this in its own topic, but it's obvious that it belongs here instead:

Ha
s
anyone been in a similar situation?

I have never missed a period or had it been late a day in my life since I started getting them at age 11 ( I am now 22 ) Just recently, my period hasn't come! I took 2 HPT, both came back negative. I went to the doctor, my test was negative. BUT WHERE IS MY PERIOD! I am not that stressed, and in fact have only been stressed to the point of tears everyday for a month this past summer and I STILL got my period on time! I was on vacation during when I would have conceived and it was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had! I have slight cramps, bloating, frequent urination, very tender breasts, increase in appetite, and I am really spacey. Could the doctor's urine tests have been wrong? I once read that the urine test doesn't work for every woman. Is this true? Could I be pregnant and my doctor is just a doof? I wanted the blood test, but she wouldn't let me! HELP!

J. I think I would find a new doctor. Your doctor my be right but she is ignoring your feelings and if taking the blood test would relieve you, even just to know either way she should not deny you that. I woke up feeling much better today, maybe I had the flu or something but my period still hasn't started. As I said before my husband and I hadn't really tried in the past, but after weighing all the what if's with my late period, we have decided to start trying. I am extremely excited. We always made excused why not to have a baby. You know money, work, bills, ect. We decided we will never have all the we want, but even in the past everything has turned out ok. Thanks to all of you guys who have posted your thoughts, it has given us something to look forward to (excitments & disappointments).

see below for what i found on a doctors website for reasons of being late on a period and testing negative.

this is "one of those times" when they just missed a period

they are making the hormone more slowly than usual and to come back in two weeks (or after their next missed period if they can stand to wait that long) for a repeat test

they actually conceived, but the baby did not get off to a good start, so they are in the process of miscarrying so they can try again for a healthy baby. It is very sad when a miscarriage happens, but we are fortunate as a species that our bodies usually detect a problem early so that most of the babies born at term are healthy.

i am so confused. I have a doctor's appt today, but what if it is too early. I can't take this. I just want to know. Does anyone know what could be wrong? does it seem like i am preg? (symptoms above) Any suggestions are appreciated. I am so confused, and a lil scared. :(

Hi everyone. My last period was around the last week of Nov. thru the first week of Dec. During the second and third week of Dec. my husband and did NOT use any protection at all. On the 26th of Dec. my stomach cramped really bad like I was getting ready to start my period, but it never came. Then on the 28th of Dec. to the 2nd of Jan. I spotted, dark reddish brown color, not even enough for a pad or pantyliner. I have read and people have told me that this was "implantation". The only other sign I have been having in lower back pain, sometimes unbearable. I feel bloated and just tired alot. Now, my husband and I have been together for 11 years now, and we have NEVER used any kind of protection what so ever. BUT, this is the first time I have ever spotted like this. I did take a hpt, but it was during my spotting. Should I wait a couple more weeks before trying one again, or go on to the doctor. I have wanted a baby so bad. And there have been months and months that go by that I thought I actually was pregnant. My heart would break over and over again. If anyone out there has any advice for me, please post...

Kimmie - January 7th, 2005 2:06 PM

Joanne S.- If I had the answer to your problem, I would have the answer to mine. It seems like we are going through the same thing. If you find out anything, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Oohh, my period started today 7 days late and I was really getting my hopes up thinking I might be preggers. Well, I gues we will just have to try harder...
Good luck everyone.

Joanne S. - January 7th, 2005 2:55 PM

Kimmie, thank you for posting. I am just glad that I am NOT the only woman out there that thinks I may be pregnant. Did you go to the doctor today? If so, how'd it go?

Amanda - January 7th, 2005 3:07 PM

I too am having the same problem. I am having a few signs of being pregnant, gassy, bloated, feeling sick in the afternoon but not all the time, a discharge, a feeling in my stomach that almost feels like butterflies and someone poking my ribs and a pain in my lower stomach, peeing alot, and wanting to eat meat and I am a vegaterian, and I can smell things that I could never smell before. But I have taken several tests and all negative. My period was due Dec.25 so I am 11 days late. This is very unually for me. I just want some hope that it is possible to be pregnant and get a negative result. I go to the doctor on Monday. Please throw baby dust my way! I will keep you posted.

Kimmie - January 7th, 2005 5:32 PM

Yeah i just got back from the doctors. They didn't do a BT. They did another urine. Negative. She told me that it could be too early right now. But just to be safe i have to get an ultrasound on monday. ugh... i hate not knowing what is going on. Wish me luck. I really was hoping I was preg. We'll see. Cross your fingers.

sholmes - January 7th, 2005 6:17 PM

Home pregnancy test are pretty accurate, but your hcg level maybe low. I am now 8 days late on my period, and I also have been peeing alot, had a urinary tract infection (but cured), I have tooken 3 pregnancy test and all negative. I also have taken a blood test on 12/20/2004 and it was negative. My last period was 12/2/04. On 12/19/2004 I had a two day period, thats was very light. Do you think I could be pregnant?

jackie - January 7th, 2005 6:33 PM
