Ahhh-Finally! My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years. As of today I am 49 days into my cycle - about 3 weeks late. I have taken 4 tests - all negative. It's so frustrating. I took those ovulation predictor tests and they confirmed that I was ovulating when I thought, but still negatives. What are the chances of being pregnant, but something being wrong with the baby. Would tha explain the hormone levels not being high enough?

Hi everybody!! My last period was on Nov. 23rd. My cycle is always 31 days and I have yet to get my period for December. I have taken 3 tests and all are negative. I have an appt. at the Dr. tomorrow morning but my question is this.....Is there a chance that a blood test could be positive when a pregnancy test is negative? If there is, can you pls explain how? My husband and I would be so excited if I am pregnant but I don't want to get my hopes up. Thanks for the feedback!

Terry, the reason a hpt can show negative while a blood test shows positive is because a blood test detects lower levels of hgc. There are two types of blood test one you want is the quantitative blood test. It is more accurate and can detect very very low amounts of hgc than the regular blood test they give. Good luck! My hubsand and are trying and have been for a year, I havn't had a period since 10.11.04, but my last test done 14 days ago showed negitive. What should I do My breast are sore and tender but that seams to be the only signs I have of being preg. Can't face doing another test for fear of more disappointment. Please advise on wat i should do. Thanks

The first day of my last period was 12/08/04. I took a couple of test and they came out negative. I am going to go to the doctor Monday and if there test says negative then i will take a blood test.

I could not wait until monday. I went to the dr on my lunch today. I am PREGNANT!!!! 5 1/2 weeks. She said that sometimes we wont show positive unitl we are six weeks. I will keep you all posted. That is so great Blue Jay!! I have one son and when i was pregnant with i got two negatives before i got a positive! So maybe this is the case now. Blue Jay when you went to the Doctor did they do a urine test or a blood test?

Terry... Let me know how it goes at the dr. My late period started on Nov.24 and I am now 3 weeks late. I have had symptoms and have taken 3 hpt's all negative. I'm wanting to go to the dr. but am not sure. I just want to have hope before I go.

Lynn, they did a urine test. When you go to the doctor on Monday remember if you do request a blood test you get the more sensative one. Good luck, klet me know how it went.

Britty D....I won't know the results of my blood test until Monday but I will be sure to let you know then. The Dr. did tell me that it is common for urine pregnancy tests to show up negative and have a blood test show positive so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I feel good that I am not the only one going through this I am also late my 2weeks and i did blood work last week and negative and i still havent got my period. So confused.

:o) I am so glad to see that there are many of us that share the same problem! My last AF started on 12-4-04. I have yet to get it! I had a blood test on 1-2-05 and hpts up through 1-7-05. Everything negative. I don't really have any symptoms. My boobs did hurt when I was supposed to get AF but nada! I get slight/mild cramping pains on my left side and more headaches than usual (I have migraines). Does or did anyone go through the same thing I am going through and found out they were pregnant later on? I am going to take another hpt this weekend. Good luck to all you ladies!! :o)

Jenny, it looks like you and I are together on this! About the same time frame. What symptoms are you having?

So my doctor thinks i am crazy. She said I could be nauseous bc of a nervous stomach. I am not a nervous person, and I would think I would be most nervous during classes...not during xmas break. I am getting really frustrated. Like I said before, my best friend found out she was preg. She had a neg. up until she was 5 weeks. So I am thinking maybe there is still a chance. I dont know though. I had a blood test this week and I dont find out until Tuesday. Ugh. i also have a brand new symptom....my breasts dont really hurt as much as they feel heavier...but my nipples are so sensitive. I was actually thinking about putting band aids on them to sleep so my shirt wouldn't rub on them. Is that really weird? anyone else this happening to? Maybe I am just having sympathy pains...but man this is all so weird. any suggestions are appreciated ladies. Thanks a bunch.

Ladies I feel your pain. I am now 4 weeks late. Have taken 4 HPT's all of them BFN. Found a new site that's pretty informative. Just thought I'd share. It's www.peeonastick.com . And yes I'm serious. I though it was a joke too at first. Check it out if you get the chance.
