I am so glad I found this forum and relized that so many people are in the same boat as I am. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for the past 9 months. My periods have been regular like clockwork (25-28 day cycle) and I have never missed one. Early in August, I had an HSG done and everything seems normal. Husband's sperm count is normal too. I am now one week late on my period. During this week, I had two negative HPTs , one negative urine PT in the doctor's office (yesterday) and one negative blood test (yesterday). I thought the blood test was pretty definitive in being able to tell whether or not one is pregnant but my doctor wants me to repeat in a week if my period doesn't come by then. I'm so desperate to be pregnant - it was bad enough trying to conceive every month and failing but this 'not knowing' limbo land is 10 times worse! It just seems to me that everyone around me is progreating with no problem... WHY ME?!?!?!

twilliams- Hang in there. The not knowing is turtuous on your emotions I know. Try to keep faith.
Two or three days can make a huge difference in your levels if did conceive this cycle. If your dr. wants you to come back in a week that would give time for your numbers to show up.

Update for me: I had my second blood test today, after getting a "weak positive" blood test Wednesday (and negative urine test). I had gotten 5 positives at home.

My Hcg's have not only doubled, but TRIPLED!! The first blood test was done so early, they couldn't give a confident positive. Now they said relax and stop taking HPT's, I am pregnant!!

My advice to anyone trying...learn all you can about over the counter Ovulation Predictor Kits, Clear Blue Easy...when it turns positive you know it is the best time to try. BD every other day (instead of every day) keeps DH's sperm count high and more potent for lack of a better word.

Also, I am not convinced the doctor tests are more sensitive than First Response earlly detection home pregnancy tests. I was showing strong + at home (they detect levels at 25). The nurse said my first blood test showed Hcg at 49.6, that's almost 50! But their result for me was "weak positive", like it was questionable still.

It is so nice to find people going through the same thing as myself. Currenly a week late and done 4 preg tests, all of which were negative. I was pregnant once before late last year but didn't work out. At that time had postive test by now and felt very tired. This time have nothing so very confused. Don't want to get my hopes up but want to know one way or the other. How long do you need to take tests for until you know it's just a strange incidence where ou miss a month, and how do you work you ovulation date out for the following month?

Update - thanks Laney. Unfortunately I was not so lucky this time... yet again. My period came on Friday. I shall be starting Clomid today (5-day course, no progesterone). I feel so disappointed - hard to focus at work these days and my job is very demanding. Anybody know anything about Clomid? Maybe I'll get lucky this time. Keep me in your prayers, all of you.

Hi ladies- I am so happy to have found this forum! I feel like I am going CRAZY! I am 4 days late and have been feeling nauseous, a little out of it and more tired than usual (I have a three year old daughter). I have the same symptoms I had when I was pregnant with my daughter. The only difference is I keep getting negative pregnancy tests - 6 to be precise. My husband would have me committed if he knew how many times I have tested. I am ready to go out and buy a First Response to take in the morning. I just took an EPT this afternoon and it was neg. I feel so strange. I have never been late (except when I was preganant the first time). I am EXTREMELY frustrated and a little scared. If I am not pregnant than what is going on? I am sorry I am rambling on and on - just like everyone else here, I am confused. I was positive I was pregnant and keep getting shocked when the tests come out negative. You ladies give me hope...

Oh thank goodness I found this thread - I was starting to think I'd lost my mind! I'm one week late and have all the symptoms of pregnancy except for vomiting (nausea instead). My back hurts, missed period (always on clockwork), vaginal discharge, headaches, sore breasts and feeling like their larger, backache, aversion to foods already, and 2 negative pregnancy tests!!! I actually took 5 but 3 didn't have enough pee on the stick, the other 2 were afternoon tests that showed negative. Everyone I talk to - yup, you're pregnant, even my fiance! Oh I'm tired and constipated too (more symptoms). I'm feeling very frustrated - can't wait for the blood test to finally find out!!

I just read more posts here and realize that my body is in control of letting me know I'm pregnant, not the tests. This past month was the first time every trying to get pregnant - I'm 37. So to find all of these symptoms happen to me, then "-" tests is too coincidental. I have got to stop spending $$ on tests though, lol. Will post again.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in this... I'm now about 10 weeks late, and haven't been getting anything but negative responses on my HPT's. I saw my Dr. about 2 weeks ago, and she did another urine test, which of course was negative too. I'm actually a little pissed at her for not doing a blood test, she basically just told me I probably wasn't pregnant, but to just act like I was, and come back a month later for an ultra sound if I still haven't gotten my period.... The waiting is KILLING me. I have all kinds of symptoms, nausea, lower back pain, larger breasts, milky discharge, and my stomach looks and feels swollen. I just feel...weird. I've never been pregnant before, so I don't know how I'm supposed to feel, but something is definitely going on. I have to wait till Oct 4 for my ultrasound, blah. I might lose my mind before then.

My period is 4 weeks late as of today. I have had 2 negative HPT and one negative blood test. Still having all symptoms; nausea, some vomiting, achy boobs, mucousy discharge, tired, gassy, increased sense of smell, etc. I am so confused! I don't know what to think. I keep trying to research these symptoms online but nothing else explains all of them. My stomach is itchy, too, I don't know if that's a symptom. I will try to get a sonogram/ultrasound to be sure because I don't know what else it could be. Any other ideas?

Glad I found this! I used to come to this board when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2005. This year we lost our son (in june) at 13.5 weeks. After two normal cycles - here I am. Not trying to get pregnant, but suddenly found myself 7 days late, and for the last 6 days just spotting. All hpts are neg. Blood came back as 4 miu, not pregnant. Progesterone is 2.4, and it says I am in the luteal phase.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am about to turn 37 (gulp!) and I am worried about peri-menopause or something. The spotting wont stop and it only appears after I wipe (sorry for the tmi).

Hi Tera and everyone. My na,e is Robin, my hub and I have been trying for 5 months now and I am extrememly regular. Normally I also get spotting for a few days before AF and pretty dramatic PMS. My AF is three days late, no spotting, nothing! Negative test this morning. So cranky.

Hi everyone....I'm 10 days with my period. I had gone off BC pills in April and got pregnant, but I had a miscarriage in June. Since then, my periods have been normal except last month I was 2 days late and now this month I'm 10 days late as of now. I have taken about 6 HPT's and all have been negative. I'm so confused!

PLEASE help! Similar situation here and I'm hoping one of you can share your results so I know how this might go for me. My husband and I have been trying to get preg for a year. Been using ovulation tests and last cycle had sex directly on the correct date. I'm never late. My last period was Sept 4th and today I'm exactly 18 days late. The problem is, all my tests are saying neg. I have however, ALL the symptoms. I'm pretty thin, so I know when for the first time in my life, my boobs swell up, and are extremely sore(particularly nipples). I've had one ectopic miscarrage before and in that case it took a long time (maybe a week late) to get a positive HPT and the second lines were faint. I spotted then, but no spotting now. I had no real symptons then, but all symptons now. I've heard of women being able to cautiously use Ovulation tests in place of HPTs, because your LH hormone would also be up, just like your HCG. Well I've taken one of those (had a few left over) everyday for the last 8 or so days, and everytime- TWO incredibly dark lines. The result line being even darker than the test line. So i finally got in with an OB who of course did a urine test first- neg. Sent me for blood work and I should find out tomorrow. DC said even if negative, not in the clear for pregnancy, that he wanted to do an ultrasound this week to see if he can see anything. Oh, and apparently when you are pregnant your uteris will have a 'boggy' feel upon examination, which the doctor confirmed I have... has anyone gone this long being late and healthly pregnant without showing up any HCG yet? Appreciate any replies.... i'm a wreck here....

I still don't have my period yet. I'm calling my dr. in the morning to see if I can come in for a blood test first thing. I'm not 14 days late.

well I been reading these posts and decided to stop testing for a while. I been TTC so I took a total of 7 early tests I got off the net (maybe they don't work?) I had 2 tests at the doctor. One was negative but it was 2 days before my period and one was a blood test day after my period should have arrived. I am 5 days late and I am never late. I spoke to a lab tech friend and she said the tests were done too soon to wait because sometimes + won't show until the 6th week. Therefore I am testing the 24th & 31st if no period with a different set of tests. After that I will just go back to the doctor. This board has been great.
