casper...you sound EXACTLY like me. i just went to the dr yesterday and in the morning i am going for a blood test, the last i had sex was feb. 6...but i've just been tired, sore nipples for a couple days, and sometimes i get queezy, i get hot flashes too. but i guess i'll find out! good luck...ps a pap smear isn't that bad

ashley hey, i want to go to the doctor but i'm kinda affraid that they will just do a pee test and it will show negative and then send me on my way kinda thing. i really want to know whats going on though. i know my nana had cancer of the uteris but thats not like somethign that goes down in the generations or anytihng ay. i know i know i should go to the doctor.

Well I am going to the doctor Thursday. My last period was March 27th...it is now May 11th. I have taken 3 HPT and all are negative. People keep telling me I am either pregnant or have ovarian cysts. I thought if you had cysts there would be pain but only pain I am having is sensitive nipples and some lower back pain. At night I feel this pressure on my abdomen when I lie in bed that I have never felt. I also feel fatigued, thirsty, and have weird vibrating sensation in the pad above my vagina. No nausea though. And my acne has suddenly cleared...whats up with that? lol So guess I will have to wait until Thursday but I hate worrying like this.

To Amber-Is your abdomen swollen yet? If it is and your dr is still refusing to order a u/s, you need to find another dr. There are other disorders that can cause pregnancy symptoms that can only be ruled out by u/s!

To Marie, as far as I think my abdomen is swollen, because my auntie is a massage therapist and she was giving me a full body massage and she told me that I felt swollen and she knows what I am going threw and she told me that I need to go to the doctor.

Just wanted to let some of you who are afraid to go to drs...my best friend and I have been having same problem since January... no period, numerous preg symptoms, etc... she just found out from dr yesterday that she is in early menopause and she is same age as me (29)!! I had mentioned before that I started having a faint brown discharge that came and went. Today is the 6th day (2 days longer than my normal periods) and there was massive clots this morning and past 2 days had really bad pains in tummy. Went to ER this morning and it was definately miscarriage. Had D&C. Told dr about neg tests and he said that if you demand a u/s by rights they should have to give you one. It is YOUR body and potentially the health of your child at risk. He said too many drs today sont take approriate tests, but are well aware of all the misdiagnosis problems. So to all of you who are too afraid like me to go see dr... GO BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE FOR YOU like it was for me. I wish you all the best of luck in whatever you wish your outcome to be. Hopefully all of your dreams will come true cuz there is no reason anyone else should suffer like my friend and I.

So yesterday I went to the dr. She did a urine pregnancy test and a blood test. My urine test came back negative and so did my blood test. I had to tell her five times to give me the blood test and seemed mad that I insisted. But my problem is that in the past month I've gained 5lbs and still have this huge bloated stomach. Along w/my enlarged breasts, no period, back pains, cramps, constant peeing and hungry. So if I'm not pregnant then what's wrong with me? Is there a certain kind of blood test they have to do? Certain things to test for? I'm just confused at this point. Any suggestions?

Erin- no 1, I think you need to find another dr. I've given up on women obgyns, because every one I've had either had a bad attitude or didn't seem to listen. I had pregnancy symptoms since Feb., but the last obgyn said only that I wasn't pregnant and that everything was normal. I don't think a swollen abdomen is normal! I'm making an appt with a male obgyn, and am taking with me a fetal dopplar that I rented for him to use to see if there is a heartbeat. Good luck.

hey.. it is now the 12th of May and still no sign of my af...i have gained some weight adn have a few signs but am not completely sure my last normal af was the 13th of feb...i have been to the doctors but he told me to come back in 2 weeks!!! i cant take this waiting game anymore can some one please give me some advise...thanks!!

Ok, ladies here is what happened...I went to doc and she did hormone tests. It turnes out my FSH and LH are high...So she is convinced I have PCOS but the problem is that my symtoms do not resemble PCOS ones!!! Well except missed period...She said hCG is below 2.0 which is considred negative for pg...I am very upset and I feel like being hysterical...I still didn't accept it. Could someone who was pg and had low hCG (blood test negative) respond to me??? Please help!!!

Tania, thanks for the update. I had an u/s last week to check for cysts (called today results aren't back yet), but I'd never heard of PCOS, so I looked it up on the internet. Apparently 5-10% of females have it. Some of the symptoms are pelvic pain, zits, irregular bleeding, swollen abdomen, etc. a LOT of the symptoms you hear of women experiencing in this forum. Check out this page www.4woman.gov/faq/pcos it seems to be pretty informative. Anyway, my period has been gone since the start of march so maybe that is what is happening with me too - the good news is that it is treated really easily with either a) birth control pills for those not trying to concieve or b) fertility medicine for those who do want to conceive. Just throwing this out there like myself who LOVE to self-diagnose.. Good luck everyone!

jes PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome, it is when you have small cysts on your ovaries and hormonal disbalance causes one not to ovulate...Read about it on internet more...So you can do hormonal test, and check your estrogen, LH, FSH levels. And of course ultrasound to see if your ovaries and uterus are fine. That's what I am going to do actually, tomorrow. I don't believe I have PCOS....

hey well i went to the doctor today ( i didn't see the doctor i just talked to the nurus) and i got a blood test taken and i get my results later today but i also have an appointment with the doctor on wednesday where she will do more test and talk to me and stuff so ya. so far they have all seemed nice enough so it's justa wait and se whats wrong with me

Thank Lynn. I intend to see another dr. I feel like I've been doing so much research lately. I read on another website of women who had negative blood test then later on was pg. One said her dr told her to check 1-2 wks after the missed pd. And the other said to check after the 2nd missed pd. These doctors and perfect proof tests are driving me crazy. I'll keep you posted.

i agree with what okay said about the phantom pregnancy thing because i had one!!! i had all the sign of pregnancy,my periods were lighter and only lasting a couple of days instead of my normal 5-6 days,even my belly grow firmer and rounder and looked 3-4 months pregnant,but tests were still neg but i honestly believed i was pregnant,then suddenly my belly just disapered along with the pregnancy signs,its hard to believe that something like this happens but believe me girls it does and its not a nice experience! for me i wont think im pregnant again until the test says so although i know these tests arent always reliable,but im not going to put myself through 4 months of what ive just been through again!
