According to some tests, you can take them up to 4 or 5 days before your expected period. I don't know if I would trust the results considering the fact that I'm 3 weeks late, and I am still getting negative results. I've never been this late in my life. I've maybe been a day or two off, but never 3 weeks. It all depends on how much of the pregnancy hormone your body is producing...if you're producing any at all or at least enough for a test to pick up on it.
