Have you been late before? you seem to be showing all the relevant signs for pregnancy but a hormone imbalance can also be the same. I have polycystic ovaries and have done for 17 years and have had numerous neg hpt. You can be pregnant but have these, but not usually the other way round. You are doing the right thing by going to the Dr, they will propably do a blood test.

Hi

It could be a hormone inbalance. I am also having cramps, which could be my periods coming but I'm not sure. I'll wait and see and hopefully I will get my blood test results this week. If these show negative then I don't know what to do. They are also testing for thyriod. I am now 6 weeks late and the only time I have ever been late before I was pregnant with my daughter, I also had negative tests with her at the start. Not sure what to think now?

Laura - September 28th, 2005 5:38 AM

It could be. It is now 11 weeks since my last period. I have had a blood test taken so will have to wait and see what the results are. Getting a bit of cramping today, but no period so far. Not sure what to think I have never been this late before.

Since I had my miscarriage as a result of the IUD insertion, is has really moved me into wanting another baby sooner then we were originally planning. I have a drs appointment to get the IUD out tomorrow. We're going to start trying for a baby. We're hopping for a girl this time! Good luck ladies! I'll post again when we get pregnant!

maye - September 30th, 2005 4:32 PM

Hello again ladies. Just wanted to update all of you. I haven't had my since around or slightly before August 6. I took 2 HPT's the first and second week after being late and then I went to the doctor yesterday to see if I could get some answers. They did a urine test and it came back negative but I still don't feel confident. My doctor prescribed me Aysestin which i will take for 10 day and then I "should" start my period a few days after that and if I don't then I am supposed to go back to the doctor. I was just wondering if any of you women have taken this drug or know anything about it. Hope someone can help, I'm getting really frustrated!

Morgan to Maye - October 1st, 2005 12:20 AM

Maye, here is some research I found on webmd.com: This medication is a female hormone. It is used to treat amenorrhea (lack of menstrual flow), abnormal bleeding from the uterus, or endometriosis (a painful condition where the lining of the uterus is abnormal). It is also used to treat certain types of cancer.

I would suggest checking out webmd. Just go to Webmd.com and type the name of the medicine into the search area.

I would suggest doing this search before taking any medication, even if it is from your doctor. Many doctors do not go into full detail about side effects and such.

Good luck!

I have an IUD, can i still get pregnant with that?

amy - October 4th, 2005 6:58 AM

My periods are 7days late, I have sore breasts, heartburn and now cramping I have taken 5 pregnancy test and all have been negative, i'm worried as i had a ectopic pregnancy 4 months ago which my fight fallopian tube was removed, my doctor said to take a test in 7-10 days so fingers crossed, I' m worried, can anyone give some advice?

Morgan to Don't Know - October 4th, 2005 12:04 PM

Yes, you can get pregnant with an IUD, but it's about a 1% chance. If you suspect that you are pregnant and you have an IUD it is VERY important to see a doctor RIGHT AWAY, especially if you are considering keeping the baby. If you wait too long you may not have a choice about whether or not to keep the baby.
