wapfu24 - That is wierd!! I haven't heard of that, but I would just suggest that you try testing again in a day or two. Let us know how it all turns out!

Hi guys, im glad Im not alone!
Well I am around 31 days late for my period. I took two home pregnancy tests and a urine test at the doctors, but all came back negative. These tests were taken 12 days ago. I am getting sore boobs (which I get before my period) and some stomach cramps. I have also been getting white odourless discharge. I do not get regular periods, but Im very concerned as the waiting is killing me. Could i be pregnant!?

While looking at these posts I thought Id throw out there what happened to me.. I have had 3 children, Not one pregnancy the same.. My first child I had periods ( but lighter) for the first 3 months.. the second one it stopped instantly but I didnt get a positive result until i was 8 weeks, Not sure why and no one could answer it for me... Now i am watching a friend of mine go through the same thing.. Period is late, just by a couple of days, some symptoms (fatigue) but negitive results with a urine test, Her doc told her to come back in 2 weeks if still no period, and feels that its purly stress... I hope you all get the outcome you are looking for and remember not anyone person is the same.. and if you are not comfortable with your docters answers.. go see another one.. I did with my second child!!!!

Hi Ladies!!!!! I have also the same situation I dont know if some of you read my previous forum or not. I am not sure what should I say that I am late or what.. well my last period was 08th may and then I got dark brow discharge just for once on 31may, and light pink color lil bleeding when I went for pee on 02& 03 June but i m sure this was not my period. and then after that I got low back pain, lil headeche, tiredness, and I m eating like anything every minute I am feeling hungry. I checked with doctor on 18 June Dr did ultrasound and nothing came up.and Dr did blood test I didnt get any report yet.Is it possible that if Ultrasound report is negative and blood test can come up positive???? If any one can help me please..........

Hi guys, havent logged on for awhile! But I started my period... 2months later!

Thanks for the responses, all I can say that sometimes stress and tiredness can contribute to late periods. I also think when your mind thinks your pregnant, your body repsonds to that.

Shiva - June 19th, 2007 2:20 PM

Yaa Ami I agree with you now onwards I started feeling the same thing. Since I was thinking that I am pregnant I was having lot of stuff but now when I heard from doctor that I am not Prego so I dont have that much pain in lower back and headeche. dont know what is truth But this is absolutely write that it could be in your mind and you are reading daily new stuff and starts feeling same in your body.

I also know what this is like. I'm now about 16 days late. Took a test at five days late--negative. Because I have had other complications and a history of irregular periods they've agreed to do an ultrasound. I'm a little worried. I thought I might have been pregnant last fall, but I don't think I was. I didn't have a period then for 11 weeks, and I should have known something then. After initially being tested at the doctor's office at a week late (urine), I never went back to the doctor, even after I didn't get my period for almost two more months. Had no pregnancy symptoms then except for being very tired and lots of frequent urination (but those things can also be from a hormone imbalance). I also had a little bit of breast pain and darker nipples. I got really sick (after 11 weeks late) and then started bleeding for a couple of weeks straight. I had lots of clotting then but never passed anything that looked like a fetus. For the next three months I had almost constant bleeding. In April and May I had two normal cycles (with lots of pain though). Now the same thing is happening all over again--absence of cycle that is...I hate this. I just want to have a baby like everyone else. I don't feel pregnant right now. Most people on this forum swear up and down that they are because they have all the symptoms. I guess I'm a little more sleepy than usual, but not that much. I have noticed some breast changes again, and I have slight lower abdominal pain and discharge off and on. If I were pregnant I'd be about six weeks along. Believe me, I want this just as much as everyone else here, but I am also trying to look at the facts. I don't want to get my hopes up because I've been so disappointed the times before. My husband and I have been believing God for a child of our own for a little while. I'm trying not to freak out. I feel fine. I don't feel like anything is wrong. I just don't want to be let down again. My appointment is June 25 for my sonogram. I guess I'll find out the answers I need then. Best wishes to everyone else here.

To LauraLynn, you can absolutely be pregnant and get negative results on tests...sounds like you're the one who needs to do more research. And why are you so angry and feeling the need to go after all the women who get negative tests so aggressively? YOU are the one that needs a reality check. There are many women out there who don't get a positive reading on pregnancy tests, EVEN quantitiative blood tests, until they are 3, 4, 5, even 6 months pregnant! Some NEVER get a positive test and give birth to healthy babies. BLOOD TESTS do lie! It all depends on the woman. Some women have lower hcg levels than others. Some test too early. Some only find out by doing an ultra-sound. Just because it is not the norm, doesn't mean it does not happen. Why don't you poke around a little more and do some research yourself before you go spouting off about what you think? All you managed to do was sound ignorant. DEAL WITH IT!!!

LauraLynn - June 22nd, 2007 3:13 PM

Renee...that rarely ever happens. Ever heard of something called PHANTOM PREGNANCY? I've read threads on here where women swear up and down they're having all the symptoms, and nine ten months later, guess what...THEY STILL HAVEN'T HAD THEIR BABY!! Why....BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER PREGNANT!!!!! I don't argue that you can be pregnant with a negative test (I HAVE done my freakin homework), but that rarely ever happens. Are you telling me I could be pregnant even at almost three weeks late and two negative tests...GIVE ME A BREAK!

reneenay - June 22nd, 2007 3:36 PM

Ladies, I am in the same boat as all of you, except LauraLynn, who must have her Ph. D, he he. But that's enough of that. My husband and I TTC in May. We are both healthy 28-year-olds. I tracked my ovulation and we had intercourse every day for that whole week. My last period was May 3, and I haven't had one since. No spotting or anything. I am feeling more tired, moody, gassy, head achy, and hungrier than normal. I am getting up to pee 2 or 3 times a night. I have taken 5 HPT's and one qualitative blood test and all turned out negative. However, I am puzzled because I am very regular and have never missed a period in my life. After doing some research, I found out that a qualitative blood test is just about as accurate as a HPT, so it was basically pointless. Ladies, take my advice and If you are having puzzling results and think you are pregnant, request a quantitative test. Or better yet, request an ultra-sound if you are far enough along for an embryo to be detected. I am personally waiting until I miss another period and then I will start the HPT's again, until my appointment later next month. From the research I have done, we could all fall under one of these 4 categories: 1) We are pregnant, and have lower hcg levels than normal. 2) We are pregnant, but may have an embryo that is not viable, which will lead to an early miscarriage. 3) We have another medical condition that is throwing our cycles off (maybe cysts or an ectopic pregnancy). 4) We are just plain late. I can relate to all of you, especially with all of the confusion and frustration in all of this. I never imagined that this sort of thing happened until I stumbled upon the situation myself, and all of you. I wish you all the best, whether you wish to be pregnant or not. It's just nice to know that we are all in this together!

reneenay - June 22nd, 2007 3:42 PM

LauraLynn, yes, I have heard of a phantom pregnancy. Some of these women may have a phantom pregnancy, and SOME MAY NOT. I never said a negative test occurs when someone is pregnant often, I just said it CAN happen. It can and it does. Didn't you read this forum? There a many women on here who actually ended up pregnant. YOU could even be pregnant yourself. Wouldn't that be a laugh?!?

reneenay - June 22nd, 2007 3:51 PM

LauraLynn, maybe it happens more often than you think. I personally know a few women who have given birth and didn't get a positive test until they were around 2-3 months pregnant. Sounds like you are somewhat agitated about your own situation and don't want to get your hopes up. It appears like you are being very absolute about this subject because you are afraid of what your outcome will be. Take my advice and just CHILL. By the way, I've done my freakin' homework too, and know enough to see your hostility is a facade for your fears.

LauraLynn - June 22nd, 2007 4:34 PM

I know I'm not pregnant. Other than a missed period I have no pregnancy symptoms. And I wasn't pregnant back in the fall either. It was probably all in my head. I continue to have cramping that feels like period cramps, but I never start. Last fall they told me I had a urine infection. Maybe I have another one. As bad as I want a baby the facts show I can't possibly be pregnant. Not with two negative tests (one done yesterday at almost three weeks late). The last time I went through this I didn't have one for 11 weeks and then had long periods close together until March of this year. I can't go through this again. I wanted to be pregnant last fall. I guess I talked my body into thinking I was, even when tests showed I was not.

LauraLynn - June 22nd, 2007 4:46 PM

Renee--Stress affects your cycle more than you think! That's probably why I've had so many problems with mine for the last nine years! Doctors think I might have PCOS. That will cause you to completely miss periods altogether because it stops you from ovulating due to many cysts (eggs that don't mature). The nurse practicioner I saw said she thinks I might be ovulating once every three months...if that. You have to admit that people here are worried about being (or not being pregnant) and that will throw your cycle off!

LauraLynn - June 22nd, 2007 4:54 PM

I'm not sure I have polycystic ovaries because every single test I've had done (ultrasounds, blood tests for all levels of hormones, FSH, LH and all the others) have come back normal!! If this next ultrasound comes back normal I won't know what to do from there! Even the blood test for insulin came back in normal range (wouldn't that rule out PCOS)! They found one small cyst on my left ovary which they said was insignificant. This is so annoying. My mother was set-your-watch-to-it regular every 28 days. My grandmother had endometriosis and have to have a hysterectomy at age 40. So what's my deal?
