To give one possible answer to your questions. It is possible that you are just having a very long cycle, where your body tried to ovulate but didn't for whatever reason (stress is usually the cause). Once your body finally ovulates (realeases the egg) within 12-14 days you get your period. My last cycle was 60 days long but I didn't ovulate till day 47 of my cycle.
That is why you have "missed your period" but are having negative hpt. You haven't really missed your period you just ovulated very late.

hi my period is one week late to the day, my breasts are heavier swollen but not sore, i have had one case of spotting, two home pregnancy tests were negative, doctors urine test was negative he said the test was highly accurate at three days late and that I am more than likely not pregnant, about 9 years ago I was pregnant and had two negative doctors urine tests, but blood test came out positive, I lost the baby at 12 weeks, but with my daughter 6 years ago, the urine test was positive straight away.
I am tired, and I have a white vaginal discharge, some occasional slight cramping, urinations are not any more frequent than normal, but I drink alot of water so it seems I go to the toilet alot anyway. I am happy to have stumbled across this site. if i'm not pregnant then at least I can see about thyroid problems, they dont hand out utrasounds easily in australia. just needed to share my story with people going through the same thing.

I had this happen short of a year ago and the problem was a low thyroid. Many doctors don't think to check for that, so if you are having problems with extremely late periods and negative pregnancy tests, make sure you ask your doctor to test your thyroid levels. NOTE: low thyroid also decreases fertility for those of you trying to get pregnant.

Advice please. Came off pill at beg of May to try for baby and had withdrawal bleed. No period since, but felt like was due to come on last week, but nothing. Taken a test but was neg. Also have discharge. Is it just wishful thinking?

I am now 10 days late and have taken numerous hpt's with negative results. However, I have taken two First Response Early Result tests that have given me a positive result that disappeared after about an hour or so. Has anyone else experienced this with FRER? I took a Shopper's Drug Mart life brand test this morning that was negative though. So I'm not sure what to think at this point. I am always regular between 26 to 29 days. We have been trying to get pregnant since February of 2005 and this is the first month I have missed my period. I feel very unsure at this point. Anyone with similar experiences??

Julie, all tests are different. some detect lower levels of hcg in the urine while some only detect higher levels. your hcg level may only be high enough for the first response test to be able to detect but not the others, especially if they are off or cheap brands. first response is supposed to be very sensitive and pretty accurate. if you've already had two positive ones and your cycle is normally regular, then your probably pregnant. just have your doctor run a test to verify it. also,check the instructions for the first response. my test (that is similar to yours) says that the results are supposed to disappear after an hour. good luck!

i have been in the same boat as yall..i have not had a peroid since may 2 and im VERY regular... i have had four hpt all neg.. and two blood test that were neg.. i have been reading these posts for weeks..we too have been trying to get pregnant for one year ... i have finally gotten to the doc and he thinks my thyroid is over active (i have also dropped 25lbs in three month which is NOT normal for me at all) so the same advice as the lady before ... get your thyroid checked.... I am about 2 weeks late, and I took a test last week but came out neg. I took the morning after pill about 4 weeks ago, just to be safe after one night with my boyfriend. I know the pill can mess up cycles, but of course I'm worried. I also am a really active person, I teach dance all day, but am now finished for the summer, so I haven't been really ctive for about 3 weeks. I also got a cold and was given amoxicillin. Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else.

ladies, still no period and I should have started no later than the June 15th. I've had 2 urine preg. test and 1 blood test (all negative) and a thyroid test which was "normal".....My question isn't a pregnancy one but a thyroid one....Has anyone (or do you know anyone who has) had a thyroid test which was within the normal range (mine was 2.5) but after more extensive test found out that they actually have a thyroid problem.....Because after all my searching on the net, pregnancy and thyroid problems is all I can come up with to explain my being late unless my body didn't produce an egg this past cycle....

since im military and in another country i have to wait about three weeks to get a result but will post as soon as i get it

Well I am 18 days late and I have taken 4 hpt and they all say neg. I have alot of clear discharge and sore nipples.I am going to the blood lab tommorrow and find out for sure. I'm scared to death. I want kids but don't know if I'm ready yet.

well, my test came out negative friday. and light bleeding stopped but when my boyfriend and i made love there was a little more blood. but that was it.(on sunday) i guess i'm not. good luck to all of you girls!

Hello. I was wondering if my girlfriend is pregnant? She is currently about 8 days late on her period. She finished her last cycle on the 22nd of last month. The day before that we had unprotected sex however I pulled out before anything got in. However I have heard of "pre-cum" possibly getting women pregnant. Anyway she says she's feeling "cramps" but maybe she's just fooling herself. She's been through a lot of stress in the past month with finals and going on a trip by herself to Korea. Not to mention stressing over whether or not she is pregnant. Also she just let me know that she recently got an eye infection and took some medications for that....but this was already after she was about 2 days late. She also experiences white discharge frequently....does this mean she'll start her period? Should she take home preg. test? Is it possible she could be pregnant? Thanks, and any help is very much appreciated.
