i spoke with my doctor when i was about 20 wks pregnant and he said hair coloring is fine.. as long as it's not in excess.

I just read that you shouldnt do it in the first trimester! my hair is bleached blonde and I have terrible roots as my hair has been growing so fast! I cant wait till second trimester, however I may put a darker dye on it as I dont want to risk the bleach on my hair - just incase!

my concern is that even though it may be safe to dye your hair, when you brastfeed, if you have thee chmicals on your scalp that go into your skin, then wont your baby be drinking them? I have to dye may hair too, believe me, ym roots are showing. I will wait until they are far away enough from my scalp before I paint color on, and make sure nothing touches my head. but that is my concern. it may be safe to do it during pregnancy (although i wont do it and if I do, i wont let it touch my skin), but it is the breastfeeding that concerns me.... any thoughts?
