Hey everyone. Well i just found out im 7 weeks pregnant. Im 16 years old and im a figure competitor, and all i do is pretty much lift weights and do lots of cardio. What can and cannot i do?? Some say to keep lifting but keep it light and some say to only do certain things.. help please!!!

Hi,
I am also a fitness competitor and have always been very heavy into lifting weights. I am now 24 wks and haven't missed a workout. I still do my gymnastic routine once a week (modifying some elements). I think whaterver you did before you got pregnant in terms of lifting, you can continue!
Happy 9 months :)

Hey Candice, wel thank you for the help. Its nice to see someone thats also into fitness/figure as i am. I dont know about you, but im definatley gonna miss my six pack, well i guess a one pack is acceptable.

take your work-out to a moderate level- pay attention to your heartrate and stop or decrease your workload if you feel dizzy or light-headed. After 20 weeks you cannot lift anything heavier than 20 lbs, as you risk shearing your placenta off your uterus!

i am 7 weeks also and have lost 2 children last year... Everyone is different. I would contact a physician and get the correct answers..
