hi mandy, I undrestand your situation. When I was pregnant I gained 10lbs in my first trimister. Dont worry too much in gaining weights during your pregnancy,it's natural. Anyway, you can loose that weight after giving birth. I came accross this topic about"pregnancy without pounds". This might help you. Check this out http://www.industryniche.com/reco

Okay guys I am pregnant with baby #2 and she is a girl. I am 21 weeks pregnant and gained 28 pounds so far!! I weighed 100 pounds before I got pregnant. My doc told me I could gain 50-80 pounds. He didn't seem too concerned about my weight gain.

shaymaa - March 4th, 2006 11:13 PM

how much of the food i eat actually goes to the baby?? I heard at least 85% of my food goes to the baby, that is why im always hungry

I know what you are going through.I`m also 8 weeks pregnant ,before I got pregnant I was running 16 miles a week and eating healthy, then I got pregnant and started eating everything.the only thing that you can do is to eat alot of salad ,fruits, when you eat healthy foods like that it kinda stops your cravings and helps your digestive system so you have regular bowl movements and are not so constipated .good luck!!!!

I am 34 weeks pregnant right now and have gained a total of 27lbs so far...which is good.. However, I did most of my gaining in the beginning, and, for me, it did slow down towards the end of the second trimester. In fact my last appt which was a few days ago it showed that I had not gained any weight in 3 weeks. Which this late in pregnancy its normal to gain weight fast. I think womens bodies respond differently to pregnancy. I know some ladies who didnt gain much weight up until about 20 to 26 weeks....and then they were gaining like crazy. For me it has been the opposite. Just try to eat healthy, and allow yourself small portions of "bad" foods, and get moderate exercise (walking, yoga, etc), and you should be fine.

I don't know how much weight I've gained (I won't look), but my Dr. says I'm right where I should be for 21 weeks. I didn't start off this pregnancy so great, I could have been worse, but then again I could have been better. But I just found a website www.babyfit.com, maybe some of you know about it already. But it has meal plans and exercise schedules to follow, and you can track your progress. I've only been doing it for almost 2 weeks now, so who knows if I'll crack but I like it so far.

i am 25wks with 6th baby i.i gained 15lbs in first tri this time.gaining weight is good but just not so far.trying walking alot and drinking more water when hungry

I find it helps to simply stockpile the healthful stuff and keep the junk out of the house. If you have to go to extra effort to get the junk, you'll be less likely to do it!
That said, I gained 8lbs in the first tri and then lost it again when the morning sickness got worse. Now (35 weeks) I've gained a little more than I like, but it seems to be slowing down some. Good luck. Think about what you are feeding your baby and that should help you!

I was actually the opposite to most the women here. I had a loose of appetite in my first tri because i was sick. i also lost weight. Now i am 28wks pregnant and happy that all my weight is in the front not all over my body. I am not on any suppliments because i eat the right amount of veg and fruit and clacium, iron etc but my weakness is sweet food. Chocolate i have a little a day but try and justify it by walking regularly.

I just wanted to say I'm glad I found this link! I am looking at the websites mention throughout this thread (they are actually loading while I type this got to love dialup! My only option haha). Anyways, I have been so concerned about my weight. It is driving my husband nuts he gripes at me to eat more and more. I am disabled and I really wont beable to exercise much after pregnancy so I dont want to gain more than I need to. The dr. said I was right in what I was doing. I am gaining I have gained 9lbs so far as of monday and I was 19weeks and 4 days. I was a little bummed b/c that was 2lbs over what I wanted my total weight to be. After my dr. talked to my husband I think I will have more support. He has bought so many candy bars and making me brownies when he gets home at nite and stuff. It is sweet he is doing things for me, but it is so hard for me to resisit the temptation with that stuff around. I am limited on what I can eat. Most veggies are off limits, popcorn, and nuts. So I have to be careful what I'm eating. I am still worried that I will not stay in the range I am wanting. I want to gain around 25 to 29lbs but not more than that. Thanks for the sites!

pb1982 - December 19th, 2006 12:15 AM

I am 36wks3days pregnant and I have gained a whopping 56 pounds. The sad thing though is by the time I was 5 months pregnant I was already up to 160 pounds from 130. It doesn't make me sad I don't eat horrible food all of the time. But my doctor is scared for me to gain anymore. So I am being made to do the herbalife shakes. I have to replace two meals a day with a shake and I only eat lunch. But by the time lunch comes around all I can think about is junk. I don't give in alot to my cravings but if I smell a french fry I attack. Yes silly but true french frys have been my weakness my entire pregnancy. Actually anything potatoe is my weakness. Anyways does anyone have a guess at how much weight I will lose after delivery. I read on the internet you will lose 20 pounds but my mom told me that she lost only 12 pounds with me. Can anyone help me.

Diva647 - February 11th, 2007 8:10 PM

thanks a lot Mandy & Katie, I was doing really good today eating healthy & your post totally made me crave chips so I HAD to have some!! :) . . . cravings are a big part of pregnancy just accept it. . . . I don't agree that stufing your face w/healthy foods does not make you gain weight, I'm a health food lovin vegetarian who is was V. strick about junk in my 1st pregnancy & I gained 38 lbs. I lost it all after. I ate butter, which I never eat which crave while preggo. . . anyhow, I think if you base your diet on healthy stuff it's NOT THE END OF THE WORLD if you give into your cravings now & then.

looby lou - February 14th, 2007 1:21 PM

Ahr yes... i'm 8 weeks and hungry all the time, its so easy to snack on buisc, cakes and savouries all the stuff in easy reach..its so hard!!. I eat alot of fruit thro out the day, and love fish for meal.
Try to drink lots of water and fruit juices thet will help fill you up, and have them crackers for a back up. good luck
