is anyone pregnant and using the eliptical machine. i don't want to go fast but just to use it kind of slowly like if i was walking, since i don't have a treadmill and i hate going outside. any hazards or possible miscarriage?

I've done a lot of research on exercising while pregnant. As long as you used the elliptical before (or worked out at all), you should be ok to keep going until at least month 7. Just don't push yourself too hard - and stop if you have any discomfort or pain -

I use the elliptical or treadmill about 25 minutes 3 times a week just to keep in shape, and I'm going to continue during my pregnancy.

I had the exact same question, so thanks.

Yes, the eliptical is safe during pregnancy, but check with your doctor first if you have not exercised before. The key is to keep your heart rate below 140 bpm. I'm working with a personal trainer throughout my pregnancy, and he also suggests that consistency is key - so try and get some exercise every day, alternating 20 minutes, then 30 minutes, then 40 minutes, and then back to 20 minutes and so forth. It is more important to remain consistent than to exert yourself or spend an hour working out once or twice per week. Also, don't use to much of an incline as this puts an unnecessary strain on your lower back. Good luck!
