I was told not to do situps after 1st trimester because it could cause your abs to bulge out after birth. The book "what to expect when you're expecting" is a wonderful book and will walk you through month by month. I live by it. Every woman's body is different. What works for one may not work for another. i don't take any advice from anyone without first checking it out thoroughly and knowing what is going on with my body.

I Have never heard that doing situps while pregnant would make them bulge out-I think that is ridiculous!!!!

From what I've read, caregivers recommend limiting the amount of floor exercises (ie. sit-ups) to 5 minutes to ensure proper blood flow for the baby. It's the same reason we are encouraged to sleep on our sides.
