Most likely the pains are ligaments in your lower abdominal area being stretched beyond what they are used to

im 24 weeks pregnant and im getting a sharp pains in myright side of my stomach what is the cause of this

i dont know for sure for fact that i'm pregnant but i need to know what does it mean when u get this really sharp pain around ur belly button like if it was inside of ur belly button then it shoots down .

I used to get all sorts of strange pains when I was pregnant. I always asked the Dr. and he said it was always normal. I remember feeling right under my ribs was being stretched outwards, the worst pain ever. You can always ask your Dr. they could know the cause better. They know what problems to look for as well, that's why I was calling the Office every week at least. Hope this helps.

I am 26 weeks and am having the worst pains around my belly button that have now spread across my stomach. It hurts really bad to stand straight up and no matter what I do, it doesn't seem to lessen unless I lay down for at least a few hours. I cannot just stay in bed all day yet it hurts so bad all I want to do is cry.......... So frusterating

I justed posted a question regarding this, I was just reading that it is the ligaments stretching and you might also feel pain in your pelvic bones because of your babies head pressuring it. I am 7 months pregnant and about 4 days ago I started feeling pain in my lower abdomen. At first it wasn't very bad but now it hurts alot while I am walking with every step I take. Sometimes even if I am sitting down and also while trying to sleep. I suppose it is normal.

This sounds like your ligaments are stretching. About a month and 1/2 ago I starting feeling pains in my side right under my ribs I went to the emergency room because they hurt so bad. It ended up being just that. My Ligaments strectching. Now Today I am 34 weeks pregnant and I am getting the pain again. When I was in the hospital They said take Tylenol for the pain and sometimes you can have it for 3 days. Goood Luck!! Hope this helped

I am not a doctor so I don't want to give you the wrong advice or anything but maybe this could be Braxton Hicks contractions. Does it feel like it tightens up. If so then that is what is could be. But I will definetly ask your doctor at your next appointment.
