2nd IUI Worked....thanks For The Baby Dust....

I am 35. and just found out December 23rd, our 2nd IUI worked. We used a donor from a sperm bank. 75mg of clomed, the diebetic pill 500mg, and a hcg shot. I had 2 pockets, one at 18 and one at 20. Inceminated on Dec. 5th and 6th.

This past Tuesday, I had another blood test and hcg and progesterone levels look good.
I have a OB apt. next Wednesday.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers. My partner and I are so happy.

So far the only symptoms I have are very sore boobs, very tired, and lose of apitite.

Mommy To Be, CONGRATULATIONS!! When you had an IUI, did they do the process more than once after positive for ovulation? I had my first IUI ever this a.m. and wondering if I should request another Monday. However, Monday may be too far outside the window. OPK test was BFP yesterday.

KimK, I got pregnant from my first IUI, and we only did one that cycle. I had the IUI at exactly 24 hours after my HCG trigger shot. I tested positive 13 days after the IUI. Good luck! Mommy To Be, congratulations!!

Oh thank you J. That gives me hope. I didn't have an HCG trigger shot, but my charts and OPK tests are textbook. I just found out yesterday that I have antibodies against my dh sperm (it is killing them), so the Dr. did the IUI to bypass the vaginal area. Thanks again for the positive feedback. At my age (45) positive feedback is rare.

KimK, I'm 35. My husband and I tried for 3 1/2 years on our own before going to a fertility clinic. We found out that while he has a very high sperm count, most of them are dead or dying, and/or abnormally shaped. When we tried by ourselves, the healthy sperm couldn't get past the unhealthy ones to get to the egg. However, with the IUI, the dead/dying ones were removed during the wash and this gave the healthy sperm a better chance, especially since they were inserted directly into the uterus. They put me on fertility meds, even though I ovulate normally, so that I would produce more eggs and we'd have a better chance. The RE still didn't think that IUI would work for us because of the high number of abnormal sperm, but it did! I'm now 22 weeks along with a baby girl who appears to be very healthy according to the ultrasound. Good luck and baby dust! Keep me posted!

I had 2 IUI sessions 24 and 36 hours after the hcg shot.
Found out 14 days later on Dec. 23rd.
