I am 37 and have been ttc for 6 months now (IUI) with no luck. I have no significant other and really want to be a mother. Anyone else in my situation? Any advice?

I am not in your situation, but I always thought that if by 38y.o. I don't have a significant other I'd try to have a baby by myself - so I was sort of in the same way of thinking. It just happened that I met someone at 38y.o. But I admire your decision. It's hard to say why the IUI has not worked, did you have all the tests to determine the reason? Like immune system tests, etc.

I am in the same boat but a little younger - 35. I have discovered I am pregnant after 3 IUI. :) I am delighted and a little afraid, but only in an excited sort of way.

If you respect your decision and are proud of it then so will your kid. Keep trying. By the time our kids are grown up I think this will be far more commonplace. Good luck!

good luck to single mums by choice, you have to decide at a certain age whether you are going to wait for 'mr right' or go ahead and have a baby. Also 'mr right', in my case, fled on the news of pregnancy so i too will be single mum, not by choice but baby will be loved anyway. IUI can take a few tries, so keep going at it. Also some women have better success with two iui's one day apart in their cycle.

Thanks for the support ladies! I am waiting for my next cycle to start so I can start the whole process over again; for the 6th time!! Two IUIs in a row is a good idea. I will ask again about that. I won't give up, but would love for pg to happen sooner rather than later. As it is, I will be 38!!

FYI ty - IUI is Intrauterine Insemination (not sure if I spelled that right! :)
