Hi Dunne, i am not sure if the following will answer your question, but i found this info on the net (((Women normally have 2 ovaries that store and release eggs. Each ovary is about the size of a walnut, and 1 ovary is located on each side of the uterus. One ovary produces an egg each month, and this process starts a woman's monthly menstrual cycle. The egg is enclosed in a sac called a follicle. An egg grows inside the ovary until estrogen, a hormone, signals the uterus to prepare itself for the egg. In turn, the uterus begins to thicken itself and prepare for pregnancy. This cycle occurs each month and usually ends when the egg goes unfertilized. All contents of the uterus are then expelled if the egg is not fertilized. This is called a menstrual period.)))) hope this help. good luck |

Hi Ladies. I'm new here and late to respond. I'm a new 43 year old with 5 kids (my youngest is 17 mos.) and want so much to have one more. I've heard that it's easier to get pregnant after 40 if you've already had kids. Does anyone know if this is true? I've also read that the chances drop a lot from age 40 to 43. There's so much doom and gloom out there if your over 40. I guess I'm looking for some positive news. I loved all the positive responses here! Good luck everyone. |

Congrats Dandiesmom, I posted in January that I will be 43 in Apr and am ttc. Right now I am trying to get my blood sugar down since I am already a type 2 diabetic, before we start officially trying. My doc is not really holding out much hope of me getting pregnant on clomid since my FSH is 11 and I only have 1 follicle in each ovary, apparantly it is not a good sign. I am trying to be optimistic though. The doc gave me a 3 month prescrip for clomid but says if it doesn't work the only other is donar eggs, she doesn't think IVF will work since I already have a low supply. |

Hi, I hope you don't mind me coming in on this forum, but I am 43, have a 15 year old and a 12 year old from my first marriage. I am now married again and would absolutely LOVE to have another baby but I'm utterly terrified. Before I had my two sons, I had a ruptured uterus and lost a baby boy. I had to have both my sons by C-Section as it is not advisable for my womb to go into labour for fear of the uterus rupturing again. I feel confused because I would love to have a baby with my gorgeous husband and my two boys would be wonderful with a little one, but I'm scared I will rupture again and there is even a chance I could die. I couldn't bear for my two boys to be left without a mum. Any advice anyone? |

I totally understand How you guys feel. Im 43 and 7 weeks pregnant, my OB was so happy for me. I still sometimes worry about the possiblity of losing this blessing my dd is 24 has two kids of her own so im a granny to lol. Dh and I have no kids together, he has one DD as well as I do, and we tried many, many years to get pregnant, we did the fertility workup fertility pills many times, to know avail, then a few years ago we stopped all of that, when we stopped trying it happened and I'm excited. |

Hi, I am 41 and found out Wednesday that I am pregnant with TRIPLETS! I am terrified at the prospect of managing with three. My dh and I are at happy we are pg, but never expected this. I have four children already, 14,16,19,22. I have a scan booked on the 9th Nov, then am due to see the consultant to discuss going forward. I am sure I have it in me at my age to have more patients and to cope better with the sleepless nights, but I'm not sure how to do this with three. I guess I am going to need lots of help :-) Congratulations to all you ladies over 40. |

Hi everyone. I am a newbie, 43 and ttc after 2 miscarriages in August and September. I am confused because the doctors gave me the old line about older eggs. They also told me I had a 5% chance and yet I got pregnant naturally back to back. I had 1 af and want to try again. Will begin in a few weeks. Pray for us ladies. My dh has no children and I have 3 from a previous marriage ages 22, 24 and 26. Never thought I would even want to try again but I enjoyed being pregnant and just got use to being so when I miscarried twice at 5 and 7 weeks. Baby dust to you all. |

Joy, did you have progesterone suppositories? I had two previous mc's April & June, now pg with Triplets. This time is the first time I have used them, and so far so good. I will continue using them unitl I am 12 weeks, as many do on this website. There has been a lot of research into progesterone and it's capabilties in helping to sustain pregnancies. I just hate it when dr's use the term 'old eggs' don't you. I also took shativari twice a day for the first time that cycle, 7 days previous to ovulation. Don't give up, there are lots of women out there as 'OLD' as us that are having perfectly healthy babies. Good luck |
