Get a quick blood test..to alleviate your worries. There is a strong possibility if you are regular and never late that you could be pregnant. But a range from 21-28 is quite a big variation. But sometimes due to hormone fluctuations we can be late or early without any warning.I am 40 and had my first short cycle last month. I am always 28 days or 27-29. But it came early 24 days. Women in there 40's can and do have erratic cycles..as we are slowly approaching a time when we will not longer be fertile..My Mother did not go into menapause until her late 50's. I was born when she was 39 my grandmother from my fathers side went into menapause at 38. Good luck to you and go get a blood test!! :)

Thank you Kristin72...I just did another HPT (first response) this morning (negative)...I've heard that it is possible to have negatives at late as 5 weeks along, I will take your advise & get a blood test

Hi Kristin--sorry it's taken so long to reply...I have limited access to the internet & I've been waiting since last Tuesday for my blood test results!!!! I've been seeing a new Dr (do not care for her) so I will be changing Dr ASAP...the health care system in Florida is sub-standard...anyway it is now 6-2 Monday and still no results!!! I am really starting to lose my patience...thanks for checking hope all is going well with you...Tina

i have a 23 day cycle im 44 thought i might be going through menapause was 10 days late (only had sex once between this period ) did a preg test last week and positive um my youngest has just turned 11months , i have a 2 year old and an 7 year old .good luch hope all goes well
