This happens most when I lay on my right side but sometimes when I lay on my left side as well. This is keeping me awake all night. It started happening in my 28th week and I'm now totally exhausted in my 31st week. I toss and turn all night long even with a maternity pillow. Any idea what I can do to relieve this? I have tried benadryl to help me sleep but it seems to really knock out the baby for hours after I wake up. This scares me…

have you talked with your doc? I have a pain under my right shoulder blade - but in the back...due to my changing body and scoliosis...went away right after delivery.

Yes, I have and nothing they suggested seems to help. :(

Does this happen every day, or does it come and go and feel like a throbbing pain that lasts for a few hours? Does it occur more after you eat raw veggies, mayonaise or salad dressings, or fried foods? Have they checked to see if your gallbladder is acting up? Gallbladders can act up during or after pregnancies. Just a suggestion. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.

I have the same pain! I have talked to others who have had this and everyone just had to muscle through it. I find that if I sleep with my fist positioned just so pressing into my side, ths helps me to sleep. Until I wake up because my hand falls asleep. It feels like it's muscular not internal. And my muscles sometimes flutter there just like when your eyelid or eyebrow flutters.
