Hello Ladies, and Congrats to ALL of you! I am not yet pregnant, but I wanted to come and join you, because success stories uplift me and keep my hopes up! I am 45, and I recently told my OB that I may want another child (I have a 6 year-old boy), and he said I basically had nothing better than a 3% chance of getting pregnant, that chances are I would have a down's syndrome baby, that I would have to get donor eggs to have any hope for a normal pregnancy! That got me soooooooooooooooo down, and I refuse to believe it! So will any of you ladies please reassure me that it still can be done and that my chances are much greater than a measely 3%? Also, to add to the excitement (LOL), I am a single mom, and I found a young donor, who is doing this out of the kindness of his heart, becasue his wife and he took NINE years to conceive (it was a problem on her end)... I just BD'ed for four days in a row after getting a positive O test four days ago, so I am praying that four days BD-ing in a row, with four positive O tests in a row will be a lucky for me... Has anyone done it this way, with four positive O tests and four BD-ing days in a row and gotten preggies? I would really appreciate your advice, and if it's a NO GO, what I can do to improve my chances next month! Thanks ALOT!

Where is the TTC post? Is there one for 40 year-olds plus?

Krissy68 - August 13th, 2009 5:44 PM

waikikigigi - I just wanted to welcome you to the goup. Good Luck to you. I am 41 and I have been trying for over 2 years. Keeping my fingers cross for you. How long are your cycles? Krissy

waikikigigi - August 13th, 2009 7:59 PM

Thanks Krissy! What are you doing every month to increase your chances? I am just using OPK and I had four days in a row -is that even possible? So I BD-ed four days in a row - with a donor! Tell me more about your trajectory, and I hope some of the preggos ladies will help us too!

Krissy68 - August 14th, 2009 8:35 PM

waikikigigi - I normally start using my opk on cd 10 and I start bding on the same day as well. Good Luck and have a nice weekend. Krissy

Krissy - so hows the progress coming?? Did you end up seeing your OB?? I havent really had much of a chance to come on this thread... and it seems to have pretty much fizzled!! LOL. I think my son has colic, so it has been stressful and busy in my household! My almost-two-year-old is slowly adjusting to the baby. She is good with him, but has begun to act out in other ways. Sigh... the grey hairs are gonna start popping up all kinds soon!

waikikigigi - August 15th, 2009 9:17 PM

What day are you on now Krissy? I have 9 days left to wait for the dreaded "P"... How about you?
