I'm 27 weeks with out first baby - boy - and I still feel like it's not real sometimes! I'm 38, we had been trying for about 3 years before we finally got pregnant. Sometimes I think that's why I feel like it's not real - that we'd been trying for so long. I mentioned this at my 24 week appointment, and to my sister yesterday. They both said it's normal to feel like this. The nurse practitioner said some women still feel like it's not real when baby is 2 or 3 months old. My sister (mom of 3) said that the first week or so at home, I'll look at the baby and think "What have I done???" I'm not in denial; I know there's a baby there; we have seen him via ultrasound and hubby and I are both very happy to become parents. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same sometimes.

Congratulations on your baby boy. I am pregnant for the fifth time and I still don't believe it is real either. I am 14 weeks pregnant and my youngest is 8! I know my stomach is bigger and breasts are tender but since I haven't felt movement it doesn't seem real. I wish I had one of those fetal heart monitors and then I could listen to the heartbeat everyday!

Hahaha...know what you mean. Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night and then wonder why I feel this shooting pain when I get up so suddenly! It's because I 'forget' that I have this huge 31 week heavy preggy belly in front of my body! *lol. I still tell my boyfriend that I am in denial haha. He just scratches his head :)). Well, I'm also 38 y. o. AND having a boy.
