Sorry if this sounds dumb but I'm just wondering what my chances are of conceiving with just one ejaculation from my husband on day 12 of my cycle - I want so badly to have a 2nd child (will be 42 on Jan. 17th), but have noooooooooo idea how fertile women at our age are.... Any encouraging words, or BFP's with "Just one shot in the month??? Thank-you for your replies!

Well, it happened to me - I was 40 at the time and had bd on my 14th and 15th cycle days (so it's technically twice) - and the rest is history. Had to lay for a while of course to make sure the *shot* reached it's target. Question - could you not bd more often during ovulation window, to increase chances?

well it only takes one sperm and from what I read when I was ttc there is about a 4 day window when you are most likely to conceive if I were you just go to one of the sites that is a ovulation predictor site and put in your dates and it will give you your fetile days that is what I did and now am 33wks prego I am 35yrs old

I am 41 and pregnant. (9.5w yippee) andyes, you can get pregnant by only having sex once as long as it was within your fertile period. I was pregnant at 40 (miscarried though) and it was after only once. So I suggest you chart your little heart out and relax, you have as much ability to concieve at your age as the rest of us 40+ers. hugs and good luck!
