im not talking about birth of course it hurts but my question is does it hurt when they have to stitch you up you know after wen they have to close the big hole because i've been thinking a lot about hat lately and its really bothering me

what big hole are you talking about? I mean you may tear some naturally at the time of the birth and that is normal and yes it hurts when they stitch you up but you just gave birth and that hurts much more so you really dont care at that point...any ways that is my opinion and i have had 3 all natural too...

With my first they gave me some novocaine and I felt afew pinches from that. With my second they just stitched and I also felt a few pinches. Remember those nerves are on overload and not functioning the way they would if you hadn't just given birth and started sticking needles down there

They cut me a lot with my first - I think they said the 3 cuts were 3 inches on the outside wall and 2 inches on the inside wall. I DIDN'T FEEL A THING. I was on epidural though. I don't know if they gave me local anestesia. They were stitching me, and I still weren't feeling a thing. All I was wondering at that point was that I wanted to see and touch the baby. The real pain comes when the anestesia wears off. To help with healing you'd have to have sitz baths. It was bad for probably a week. My second pregnancy was just 10 months after the first, and the ob/gyn said it' was amazing how it healed - it was as good as new. So the nature takes care of that, don't worry. The second labor I tore myself a tiny notch, not even worth stitching. That was gone within 3 days. I know what was wrong the first time - I didn't push properly, didn't give it a real effort and was pushing into the bum (haha), instead of with my belly muscles. So they had to cut me to suck her out with vacuum. The lesson: push it as if it's your last thing in this world.

I remember now - they did give me local anestesia, because they asked me if I could feel a prick of a needle. I said Yes so they numbed the area.

Yes, it hurts. Usually they will give you a shot to numb you but you can still feel it when they sew you up. You don't always need stitches, though. I tore with all of mine and refused to be stitched after the first time.
