HCG Test

How often should you get HCG test done I have got it done three times and all three times it has doubled. Should i ask for an ultrasound to detect the heart beat? I am 6 weeks pregnant

My doctor thinks that HCG testing is a waste of time. Mine only did it once to confirm the pregnancy. Once you've seen the hearbeat HCGs do not seem to be relevant anymore. I had my first ultrasound at 61/2 weeks because of bleeding and we were able to see the hearbeat. However you might want to wait until about 8 weeks because in a lot of pregnancy you can only see a sack until then. It would create a lot of worries for nothing
