My question is geared towards women who have had children after 35. I am conducting esearch to see if there is an increased risk of having children with health problems as you age. I am wanting to compare the rate of health conditions in children born to women over 35 vs. those born to women under 35. I am trying to see if women over 35 have had children with one or more of the following:
ashtma
jaundice
allergies
underweigh
t
Eczema
Scoliosis
Inflammator
y
Bowel Syndrome
Lactose Intolerance
Speech problems
Multiple ear infections
Anemia
Heart problems
Learning disorder

Or anything else that you may have experianced that you would be willing to share would be very helpful! thank you!

I had my dd at 39. She has none of the above. She is extremely healthy, rarely gets ill and for a long time was above the 90th percentile in both weight and height. Speech started extremely early and advanced extremely quickly. I also have 2 friends that had their first at 36 and 40. None of the above for the 40 year old, eczema for the 36 year old, but I'm sure that is not age related as she had it when she was a kid too. That would indicate it was genetic, not age related. When I was pg, my Dr. told me that her patients over 35 have normal healthy babies all the time, and she sees many many more healthy than not.

I had my last son when I was 39. He is perfectly healthy and very smart. He is now 2 1/2 and talking great and can swim on his own, both above and under water. I will say I was concerned while I was pregnant as I am now once again. I am now 41 and having another baby. I am once again concerned because of statistics but pray that he or she will be just as healthy as my others.
