I had a vaginal ultrasound yesterday. Today I woke up with the most awful itch in that area. I'm dry, swollen, and itching like mad. Could I have picked up an infection from the "wand", or could this just be a reaction to the lube they use? I'm trying anti-itch cream, but if it doesn't stop soon, I guess I'll have to go back to the doc.

unless the place didnt use standard hygene the likely hood that you picked up some hibijibies from the wand is unlikely. It is most likely a reaction to either the gel (not likely as it is usually hypoallergenic) but you could have a latex allergy from the condom used or it is coincidence. either way hope you get it cleared up

It could be a coincidence. Maybe you had a reaction to the gel. You could also have a yeast infection and just had it brought to light due to the gel.

When I had a vaginal ultrasound done they covered the "wand" with a condom. Is that not common practice? I think it would be a reaction to the lubricant. Call your doctor for sure.
