I'm 37 and I am 5 wks & 3 days pregnant. This is my 4th pregnancy- 1st-miscarriage, 2nd-our baby girl who will be 10 on Monday, 3rd- miscarriage about 3 years ago. We are really excited about being pregnant again; however, I am a little concerned that I only feel a twinge of pain here and there and occasional breast tenderness. I realize that its still pretty early in this pregnancy, but I'm worried that I should be feeling a little more than I do. Having gone through 2 miscarriages in the past, my fear is at an all time high right now. Shoud I be feeling more?

no symptom - June 26th, 2005 8:09 PM

Hi, Lisa

Did you have any symptom in your first pregnancy. What about the miscarriages that you had. My ultrasound is on Wednesday. What kills me is that i had very prominent symptoms one week ago. That is when i had an ultrasound and they saw a sac and a yolk sac (good for 5 week pregnancy). Not sure what i should do. Did you have any symptoms in your last misscariage. I am sorry you went thru two. I am sure all will be well this time

First, thanks for responding. With my 1st pregnancy, I miscarried at 13 weeks. I did have extremely sore breasts and spotting almost from the very beginning but no cramping. With my 2nd pregnancy, my daughter, I never got morning sickness/nausea; however, usually every evening throughout the entire pregnancy, I would all of a sudden have to throw up, I would do it, and then I would be fine. That always confused me because I thought that I should at least get a little queazy or something first before I would get sick, but I never did (LOL). It would just hit, I'd hug the toilet & then it was over, no nausea, no nothing. My 3rd pregnancy, I miscarried at 8 weeks. My ob/gyn never got a heartbeat. I was spotting lightly and had sore breasts, but once again, no cramping. Now, I get scared alot because I am having days where I do not feel pregnant at all. I have had no spotting of any kind so far. I don't think that I had any spotting with my daughter either. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both us that God is just gonna let us off easy this first trimester! Please let me know how your ultrasound goes. Mine will come on July 6th.

Today I had an ultrasound. I am now 7 weeks/2 days pregnant. It was wonderful. We have a baby with a beating heart this time. I guess a lack of symptoms does not always mean that something is wrong. I still have very few mild symptoms- small twinge of pain here and there and occasional sore breasts.

lack of symptoms - July 7th, 2005 1:56 PM

Hi lisa

I also had an ultrasound done at 6.5 weeks and my doc found a heart beat. It was 118 and she said that it was at a normal range. I am scheduled to meet with her again on Tuesday. Will see if she can find the heart beat with a doppler. I will be 9 weeks then. The first trimester is really hard. Keep reading miscarriage stories and it scares me.

On July 6th, I had my first ultrasound. I am pleased to say that at 7 weeks, we have heard a heartbeat and everything appears to be okay. I still cannot understand my lack of symptoms, as this has not happened in my three previous pregnancies. Having been through 2 previous miscarriages, I try not to think about that subject. Not thinking about it is far easier said than done. Good Luck to all of you.
