Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum - found you all today. Here's my situation.
I am 37 yrs old, turning 38 in a few months. I have been TTC for 5 months now. I know that's not long, but our TTC journey has been difficult and will continue to be. The reasons for that are that I am in the military and was deployed and returned home 5 months ago. Now, my husband is moving away as his job is transferring him. I will do my best to try to visit during optimum ovulation times, but I won't be moving with him until I retire in about another year.
I have a 2 year old, thank goodness, so I know pregnancy was at one time possible and viable. My husband's sperm test came back normal.
This past month I took Clomid and have had some strange symptoms since then. I am hoping you all can chime in on these:
Clomid was taken cd5-9, my period is normally 22 days. I did not start testing for ovulation until day 11 (screwed that up, I think). Anywho, after 7 days of testing, I had no indication of ovulation. Could I have ovulated earlier that day 11? Around cd15 I developed cramps. On cd 16, I also developed a backache. This continued for 2 days and on cd18, in addition to cramps and a backache, I also developed gassiness and bloating. Cd19 and cd20 (today) I have had a milder backache and the cramps have diminished. I took a HPT on Cd17 and it was negative. Now, that may have been entirely too early to detect any HCG, but now at cd20, I am fearful to test again. I want to badly to be pregnant that I'd rather live with the possibilty that I may be, rather than face the reality that I'm not. Sound silly?
As far as symptoms, I did not experience any of these (the cramping, bloating, gassiness) with my first pregnancy except I did have an excruciating backache within the first couple weeks. This recent backache was very painful, but it has pretty much gone away whereas my pregnancy backache did not.
Could I be pregnant? Could I be experiencing side effects of Clomid? Could I have had that hyper ovarian condition? I would talk to my ER or OB, but I don't have one right now (don't ask - long story, except to say that I've been told Fertility consults and pregnancy aren't exactly conducive to the army's mission). I've given almost 19 years to the military and do not believe I should have to forgo or foresake a child due to the mission. I'm retiring soon and won't be redeploying anyway. Nonetheless, I was able to squeeze a consult out of my PCM and hopefully, they will approve my request - that is still up in the air right now.
LONG story, I know, but needed to vent and would love to hear everyone's advice and experience.
Thanks so much!
