KRISSY - Thanks for the prayers, they're always appreciated. I'm positive that we're both still going to find those "golden eggs." I'm jealous about your hair cut by the way. I look AWFUL with really short hair and I've always envied women who could pull of that "short and sassy" look. :-)

MY UPDATE - Just waiting, though not obsessing, which is good. Can't wait to see some more posts from our new friends.

runnershirl - June 5th, 2009 1:07 PM

Hey girlies...Keeping my fingers crossed for you all...baby dust to all...

Aspen~ I took femara, gonalf(75) and ovidrel...I o'd on 5/31 and am presently 5dpiu/dpo and on cd17. When can I test, when can I test, when can I test? Did I mention I'm anxious? I tested, knowing it was early, yesterday and negative. Not surprised. I have a testosterone test Mon morning, but not really sure if it's too soon (will be cd20/8dpiui). I have symptoms...yes, krissy, testiness is here too. just not sure if my symptoms are power of suggestion or me looking too hard because I want this. Is there anythign I could do that would disallow the little swimmer to attach to the inside of my cervix, which is what should be happening anytime now? Obv. no smoking, drinking, but anything else? I hate 2ww! Gotta run, but will check back later. happy fri girls!

Aspen 8 - How are you doing? You are right we are going to get our Golden Eggs very soon. We just have to keep our FAITH and support one another and stay positive. I think it will happen when we least expect it. Girl don't even be jealous it was just something that I had to do I had been putting it off for way too long. I'm not saying I'm looking sassy but I'm trying to get there
I have to make sure I wear my big earrings so I don't look like a little boy LOL!!!! I think it needs to grow out just a little then I will think I am "HOT" LOL. I plan on going to the hairdresser every 3 to 4 weeks just to treat myself. What cd are you on and what is your dpo? I' on cd 22/8dpo. Girlfriend I hear you I am not obsessing or stressing. I just take joy in all the ladies who share with us that they are pg. Have a G
reat Weekend!!!!! Take Care and I will talk to you soon.

runnershirl - How are you feeling? Did you get your hpt yet? I know some ladies have started testing from 7dpo and either test every day or every other day and some have gotten their BFP. You could be strong and try and hold off until AF is due when should she be here anyway? I know I should be getting AF between Jun 13-15 and I guess I can officially test on June 13. As for me I can tell if my temp start dropping big time then I kniow that AF will be knocking on my door. That is why I just love taking my temp so I can be prepared. Good Luck to you!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to hear your update. Have a Great Weekend!!!!!!!!! Krissy68

runnershirl - June 5th, 2009 3:29 PM

Keeping Faith is what it's all about ladies...

Krissy..I'll start testing on Sunday then..that will be 7dpo/dpiui...And, cd19.

Stupid question..Since i'm in that range (I think) where the little gobbledygook of a maybe baby should be attaching to my uterus...is it a bad idea to go for a jog, long walk, elliptical? I mean, can bouncing around and stuff prevent the little thing from attaching? All Ithink of is a pinball machine and that it won't be able to attach? I just don't want to do anything to prevent it...Thoughts?

Aspen8 - June 8th, 2009 12:01 PM

RUNNERSHIRL - I think even the doctors disagree about that sometimes. I know that some IVF docs suggest bed rest for anywhere from 1-3 days after the transfer. Others say that's ridiculous and it's not even remotely necessary. Women get pregnant every day while living their normal lives. My brain agrees with the latter philosophy. Our uterus isn't an empty "cavern" with room to ping-pong around. The sides of the lining are actually supposed to mostly touch each other until or unless the uterus stretches to make room for a developing baby. I imagine it more like hold a pea bewteen "praying" hands, than "cupped" hands, if that makes sense. In that case, it's really just a matter of whether it implants or not...not so much if it can find a place to implant.

Now...having said that...the last five or six cycles or so, I've been very tempted to take it easier than usual in the "implantation window." Probably totally paranoid but who can blame us for getting paranoid? Trying to reconcile those two mindsets...I'd probably go ahead and take long, comfortable walk or go long and relatively easy on the elliptical. But I might skip the run. Which is probably completely unnecessary....

Good luck. My fingers are crossed for you!

KRISSY - I think it's a great idea to go to the hairdresser often and treat yourself. We need to be good to ourselves! And I absolutely agree that it helps to hear all the success stories...just reminds me that it's possible. We'll get there.

MY UPDATE - Judging by my temperature this morning, cycle #17 was a bust. All the way down to 97.27. I'm expecting AF later today or tomorrow morning. I still haven't decided for sure about the letrozole for the next cycle. Guess I better decide soon, huh?

Well - trying to look on the bright side, the second I see AF I'm allowed to treat myself to a vanilla cappuccino and there will definitely be a glass of red wine in my near future.

I'm gonna go pout now. Talk to you all soon.

runnershirl - June 8th, 2009 12:23 PM

Aspen, thanks for the detailed info on the bouncing around part. I've pretty much played on the safe side and done a whole bunc of nothing the last week (and it's about to drive me crazy-haha, but in time, I could learn to love it. hehe)Having said that, I noticed light pink spotting on Saturday. That would have been 6dpiui/6dpo...*fingers crossed*. Nothing since.

I went for my progesterone test this am. I'm a little bummed though that the progesterone test is only going to tell me if I ovulated (and need progest. supplements), not whether I'm prego. At least, that's what I'm told. So, one more week of waiting here too.

I did cave and got a few tests (Fact Plus) this weekend since my mail order tests haven't arrived. Have you ever noticed that none of the tests tell you the level of hormone they detect? I was looking for the test which tests the lowest, but none showed...?? I read that some people had success with tests from mail order. I did test at home Saturday-BFN--of course, I'm early. Patience isn't a virtue of mine.

I like the idea of a big glass of wine...In fact, instead of allowing our BFN's (if adn when we receive them) to be depressing and sad, we should create an acronym for teh time when we can get our hair colored, go for a job and have a glass of wine (before starting again). It could be known as our Girl Pampering Week. "GPW" Whatcha think? hehe. Why should all the focus be on the bad or frustrating? After the 2WW everyone deserves the GPW! It's a small consolation prize for what we've not yet been given (the baby).

Aspen, I've never really charted my temps, but do you think that the dip in temps will guarantee AF? I hope not. I did Letrazole/Femara this round, along with other meds, so I'll keep you posted.

Any other updates?

Aspen8 - June 8th, 2009 1:29 PM

RUNNERSHIRL - You're right about the progesterone test. It'll only confirm ovulation and indicate low or normal post-O levels.

About the spotting....I've had my hopes crushed so many times in the last 17 months that I'm incredibly hesitant to say anything to anyone that would help them get their hopes way, way up. I don't want to contribute to that painful, painful crash. Having said that, if you don't usually spot mid-cycle, that could be a VERY good sign. I never, never, NEVER spot midcycle...only sometimes right before AF. Never any other time. Not once. Ever, in my whole life. If I suddenly saw light spotting in the normal implantation window,I'd have to work hard to keep my soaring hopes under control! I hope, hope, hope that it was implantation bleeding for you! Do you often see mid-cycle bleeding?

"GPW" - I LOVE IT...it's in!

That "dip" in my temps virtually guarantees AF. I never grab the high test coffee or booze until I officially see red....just in case...but temps that low always mean she's on her way for me. (I've seen charts in the Fertility Friend chart gallery where the temps get that low for a day and then suddenly rebound, resulting in a BFP but out of THOUSANDS of charts, there's only a handful like that.)

Anyway, it's a done deal. Not 30 minutes after I typed my last post I saw the first pink spotting. The only question now is whether it'll progress to "full red flow" today or wait until tomorrow to officially be "Cycle Day #1". I'm gonna wait until tomorrow for the cappuccino since it's already afternoon, but the wine I'm having TONIGHT! Lol. Let GPW begin!

Okay...pouting or no pouting I actually have to get my butt in gear and WORK now. Have a great day. :-)

Krissy68 - June 8th, 2009 2:53 PM

Aspen8 - How are you doing? I'm sorry that AF showed up. Have you decided what you are going to do this cycle. I know what you mean when about your temp because when mines go way down I know she is here. Sending you a hug.

runnershirl - How are you doing today? I'm sorry that you got a BFN but stay positive you could have tested too soon. Keeping my fingers cross that the light bleed was implantation.

My update: Nothing really I am currently on cd 25/11dpo and my temp went down from yesterday 98.69 to 98.20 but I am not real sure if I should even consider this temp even though I put it in fertility friend because my lovely fiance work me up before time for me to get up and was carry on a conversation and then we ended up bding and then I took my temp. Here is what my body is doing today: my lower back is hurting; feeling queesy and a little nausuated; my boobs are a little sore and I am super tired. I think that is about it. According to fertility friend I could start testing today since it is 5 days before AF but I chickened out if my temp go back up tomorrow and even a little higher on Wednesday then I will test.

I do have a question I have some of the internet hpt now can you test with them any time of the day? I hope you all are having a good day and I will talk to you soon. Krissy68

runnershirl - June 8th, 2009 6:43 PM

Hey Krissy~ Your symptoms sound kinda promising too...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I wouldn't really on the temp since dh(or df) worked you up..hehe. (you go girl!)

I just got my internet tests in the mail today and they do say that you can test any time of the day but first morning urine is best. My test came back negative, but it's again, likely too early. I'm not worried about that yet. Still hopeful (but within reason).

Question for you ladies...I went for my progesterone test today...Dr.'s office has a little voicemail system where you call in to see what's next...The voicemail said, "your progesterone was 9.75, which is a little low, but it appears as though you may have ovulated. Call us back if you get a positive pregnancy test or if you have questions." Yeah, I do have questions...What does this mean!?!!!! Can anyone fill in the blanks that they didn't, as it's now after hours? Is that a normal range for someone at 8dpo (or maybe 7dpo)?

Ladies, I'm still super duper tired, and now that you mention it Krissy, my lower back muscles have been super tight too. I've had to stretch them out. Boobs still sore, periodic heartbearn, headaches or nausea. Mostly just tired. Want to sleep all the time. I read that fertil meds could cause it too, so I must remind myself not to get too excited yet. But, after my recent BFN, that keeps my emotions in check. Same with that message. I really don't know what that means...If the progesterone level is low and I am pregnant, I should be put on some sort of supplemnts to avoid miscarriage--why aren't they looking into that? Should i test every day now, or push to get a blood pregnancy test. Thoughts ladies?

Aspen, I'm hoping your pink spotting was nothing more than that.

Happy Monday!

Aspen8 - June 9th, 2009 1:07 PM

KRISSY - I'm going to call my RE today and see if he'll prescribe Femara (letrozole) this month even if we don't want to do an insemination. I'd still only expect to get one follicle, but it might be better quality with it than without it...who knows. If he doesn't want to do that, then hubby and I will just make do on our own this month.

I agree with Runnershirl - I've heard that even if the tests say any time of day will work, FMU is best because it's more concentrated (assuming you didn't get up to pee a couple of hours before you woke up).

The last few days are the hardest, aren't they? Hang in there...the 2ww is almost over! :-)

RUNNERSHIRL - Call them! (You probably did already, but anyway...) My understanding is that any 7dpo level over 5 probably means some form of ovulation but that on a non-medicated cycle, they like to see at least 10 to indicate a strong ovulation. On a medicated cycle, they like to see 15 or above. What I don't know is where the borderline between "medicated" and "nonmedicated" is. Like...I was very definitely MEDICATED the last few cycles. When I took low-dose clomid for my clomid challenge month, does that count as "medicated"? And also, I don't know how much - if any - the number of mature follicles matters. If you have 3 mature follicles on not much clomid and I have only 1 mature follicle on major FSH shots, whose progesterone should be higher...or should they be the same?

The point is that I'd definitely want to know more, both about their standards and the reasons BEHIND their standards. Are you working with an OB/GYN or an RE? Either way, don't assume that they're being as proactive as you want them to be. They're swamped and the information gets passed around between too many hands in the office. Nature of the beast. Things get missed or overlooked sometimes. Don't be afraid to be assertive. Your body, your money, and your ticking clock, right?

Keep us posted!

MY UPDATE - AF arrived in full force last night. Today is officially cycle day 2. I'll enjoy "GPW" for a few days and then get back on track and get ready for at-home ttc'ing this month. I'll have to get used to OPKs all over again. Since on shots there's no LH surge I didn't bother the last 3 months. I'm out of practice. Hope I can remember which end to pee on. Lol.

Have a great day everyone.

Krissy68 - June 9th, 2009 3:00 PM

Hey girls well you know I tested yesterday afternoon which I shouldn't have and it was a BFN I am okay not upset or depress. But guess what my temp did go back up from 98.20 to 98.39 so that made me feel better. I will watch them for a few days and if they are still up then I will test. My symptoms are pretty much the same but the stomach is really bothering me. Will keep you posted. Enjoy the wine for me Aspen. Krissy68

Aspen8 - June 10th, 2009 9:29 AM

Good luck Krissy. Hopefully you will NOT be joining me for wine this weekend...which is fine...I can SO handle that all by myself! ;-)

runnershirl - June 10th, 2009 9:56 AM

Good job Krissy at not lettign your emotions be swayed by the early hpt.

Aspen, so, indulge us--what kinda wine will you be drinking and toasting to for us? Doesn't it feel good to be empowered by this instead of letting it empower you? If I get my GPW, I've got plans to see the dentist for that one nagging tooth, and to get a follow up MRI done, and to get my hair colored. Big plans.
Have a great day girls.

Krissy68 - June 10th, 2009 12:56 PM

runnershirl - Thanks for the pep talk but I have bad news my temp took a nose dive today from yesterday 98.39 to 97.94 so I know AF will be here in a few days. I will keep you updated. How are you doing and feeling? Krissy68

Aspen8 - June 11th, 2009 11:41 AM

RUNNERSHIRL - My neighbor gave us a bottle of wine recently because she knew I'd love the name : Little Black Dress. An expensive, high-brow wine it ain't. But that's just too much fun not to give it a try! I'm thinking patio, grilled something for dinner, Little Black Dress. Sound good? Oh! And I just made an appointment for that "nagging tooth" myself. I hope your roots just have to grow out but if they don't, yeah...those sound like good GPW plans too! Lol.

KRISSY - I'm sorry about the temps and AF. Did she actually show yet? If not, what are YOU doing for "GPW"?

Krissy68 - June 11th, 2009 5:13 PM

Well girls AF found me at 3am. Aspen, I'm not real sure what I am going to do I might have a drink and I know I am going to take a long hot shower when I get home because I am having the worse cramps of my life. Krissy68
