Congratulations! The cramping is totally normal unless the pain is too sharp and intense, or is only on one side or is accompanied by bleeding or spotting. I had mild to heavy cramping for a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. I called my doctor because I was freaking out and they assured me it was normal. The cramping will get better and go away. But note that I'm in my 15th week now and feeling "round ligament pain" (a different kind of pain and cramping) so you may have that to look forward to a little later on in pregnancy. Don't assume the worst, you're probably fine. IF you're still afraid, talk with your doctor so he/she can get more information from you but they will most likely tell you that your cramping is very normal.

It is perfectly normal. I had menstrual-like cramps regularly from the day before I tested positive until I was 10 weeks along, and occasionally even after that. The doctor said that it is normal unless it's accompanied by heavy bleeding. I now have a healthy, perfect 7-week old baby girl. Congratulations and good luck!
