Monistat3 Was Taken 4 Days Before I Found Out I Was Pregnant

I had taken monistat3 for the full 3 days. A couple days later my breasts were hurting, so my husband jokingly told me to take a pregnancy test. It was positive! So we took another test! Postive! We did a blood exam (my husband didn't believe it). We are pregnant. I am 36 years old, pregnant for the first-time, and worried about the monistat 3 that I took. Should I be worried?

Hi there, A great place to check with is : Motherisk Phoneline. Look it up for the phone number (sorry I don't know it) Its a toronto ontario canada number and it is great for all types of drugs. good luck

nu2this - Congrats on your positive! Did you talk to your doctor about taking the Monistat3?

Don't worry about the Monistat at all. I take pills for migraines, things for yeast infections, etc....so I asked my OB about them causing birth defects, if I take them before I know I am PG. He said organ formation doesn't even begin until week 5, so what you do before then almost never effects the baby. The monistat is in a class of drugs that is not deemed harmful anyway. www.perinatology.com/exposures/druglist.htm Here is a link that I found helpful.
